Steve Mead is my mentor
Springs are not a topic that creates much fervor for discussion, but I have found this Steve Mead set to be an improvement over the originals for my new euphonium. I broke in the cylinders and pistons with the original springs, and when these springs arrived the difference was subtle but obvious...much less sticking, and very nimble. A little on the expensive side, but I think worth it over the years.

Great springs, but slightly overpriced
These are great springs, but for what they are worth, they are overpriced. Each spring has a different tension for the strengths of each finger. The last springs I had where not plastic coated, so they rattled when I play. Now I don't have to worry about that anymore. These have pretty strong tension so they take time to get used to. Overall great quality.

Expensive springs, but a definite upgrade from the stock springs as they are much quieter. They do feel noticeably firmer, but this has not been a problem for me. These fit nicely in my Mack Brass compensating euphonium (a clone of the Yamaha 642).
