Dior: New Looks presents a new take on Dior!
Three reasons why this book should be on everyone's must have list. Its a wonderful new look at the New Look—that’s what makes this so interesting—looking at signature pieces and how they’ve been reinterpreted over the years. Additionally, there are lots of never-published photos in here. Lastly, the book's text is readable and thorough, NOT stuffy and academic. I loved it!

The cloth slipcase this came in was a cool surprise--high quality product!
I bought this as a present for my mom--and when it showed up I was pleasantly surprised because the book comes in a really nice gray cloth case. It's very elegant. The print quality is really good too. Definitely recommend.

A keepsake
This really gives you a solid picture of what Dior is all about. Love the gray cloth case the book come in, and the nice thick paper. Plus it’s a good coffeetable book size—big enough to really show the clothes and comfortable enough for reading, but not one of those ridiculously huge fashion tomes that’s too hard to handle or too big to put in a shelf.

stylish and cleanly laid out book with beautiful photos and a HUGE TYPO
Nice book with slipcase. Photos are wonderful pairings that attempt to show the continuum between Dior's New Look some 70 years ago, with today's line of clothing from the Haute Couture house of Dior. There is a big typo on one of the pages. It is under a photo by Clifford Coffin. It all started from a shoot for a Vogue magazine cover involving three models. Nancy Berg, Candy Tannev, and Elsa Martinelli. There are other shots from that session. On the internet the model in this photo is oftentimes incorrectly credited to be Nancy Berg. I made that same mistake myself for years and was mystified when looking at Nancy Berg's tv show "Count Sheep" and the movie Fail Safe (1964). The woman in those films look nothing at all like the model in this photo. I only found out last year that she is Elsa Martinelli.Simple mistake for the casual internet surfer, but a big error on the part of the editor of an otherwise excellent book.

Fresh pictures, cool models
The way this book highlights signature Dior elements and silhouettes over the course of the brand’s history is well done—and the images are definitely NOT the same old. There are images in here that have never been published. And it has great examples of Galliano and Raf Simons’s work, too.
