Good stuff this item fit like a glove
Good stuff this item fit like a glove. It fired right up giving a strong spark which was great. Only suggestion is that it does not show which side is up and which side is the cylinder side. I suggested that to the seller. The ground wire spade side goes down which was my first try and it worked.

You Get What You Pay For
I purchased this item (coil) for a 6.5 B&S engine. I could not get it to run right. I did a valve job (lapping &Adjustment), two carb's, spark plug and all the gaskets related. I adjusted the governor, checked for a sheared pin cleaned the fuel tank and lines. It would run different but not right. I carried to a small engine repair shop. The spark was check and found to be very weak. He put a used coil on to check and it ran perfect.

Good replacement part
This one fit just find on my briggs and stratton motor and I am giving it 5 stars simply based upon price. The local parts dealer wanted almost $60 for the briggs part and I was not about to invest that into a 10year old mower.Everything worked just fine and the cable length fit just fine down to the plug.

Great Coil
Fits like a glove on my mower (replaces Briggs 590454). The holes lined up, the plug wire length was perfect and it is for 90 degree boot. Note that the boot is not included, so you'll need to pull your old one off and put it on this.Excellent product at good price.

Way cheaper than the dealer.
Local dealer price for these was $48 dollars. What a joke. Installed this one and my mower runs great! You will need feeler gauges and some patience to set the air gap between the coil and the flywheel.

If fit and it works
There seems to be a lot of slightly different configurations of this device available and it took a lot of searching to find this one that looked exactly like the old one. The mower now works.

Should last at least two weeks
I did like the heat shrink on the rebuilt coil. I know my mower gets hot. But for the new rebuilt coil to quit in less than a month sucks.Save your money, and your frustration, buy a new mower.My mower is still hard to start ( 20 ) pulls. After it runs for 15 minutes, it will not start again. I installed a brand new carb kit, plug and a filter. When it wont start I pull the plug and get no spark from this coil.

Functional but poorly made. Two of the metal plates ...
Functional but poorly made. Two of the metal plates were completed separated from the coil in its package. I reattached the plates using a small amount of epoxy. The curvature of the coil gap surface does not even come close to matching the profile of the engine flywheel and magnets. End result is that my engine runs with this unit installed but it runs roughly since the coil gap cannot be properly adjusted.
