Great coffee and good value.
A very good, full bodied semi-dark coffee.

Bad taste
Thought we would give this coffee a try, since we love the blue mountain blend, wanted to try a dark roast. Hubby wasn’t crazy about it, I didn’t like it at all! Left a bad taste in my mouth after every sip. Finally just poured it down the sink. Wasted my money on this!

Nice Coffee
This is a great coffee , good quality and works great with a fine grind on my espresso machine. I love the aroma and the flavor.I prefer this Sumatra to the Starbucks and is cheaper. The roast is very nicely done with no noticeable light brown spots.

Good inexpensive Sumatra
I am not a coffee connoisseur by any means, but I do like something a bit more interesting than Eight O'Clock. One of my favorite coffees was a store-brand Sumatra that came out of dispensers, but both of the ACME supermarkets that I normally bought it from appear to have removed all of their whole bean coffee dispensers in favor of more shelf space for K-cups. It had a smooth taste and was better than, for instance, the Starbucks Sumatra coffee (as long as the beans weren't ancient) but it was still reasonably priced.I've tried out several different companies' Sumatra coffees but have settled on this as my go-to "affordable Sumatra" replacement. It is one of the least expensive Sumatra coffees I've found but it still tastes fine and, most importantly, has been consistent in how it tastes. I haven't ordered one batch that tastes great and another where the coffee's so burned to death that I have to clean my pot afterwards, as was the case with a few smaller and more expensive gourmet brands I've tried. I don't quite like this blend as much as the old supermarket Sumatra or Magnum's Jamaican/Blue Mountain blend (my favorite of theirs), but I still like drinking this when I'm in the mood for something less acidic and don't want to splurge on something that only comes in a 10-12oz. bag.I've ordered this coffee several times and haven't found the coffee to be too weak as some reviewers have, but it is important to note that I normally use a stovetop percolator or, occasionally, an electric percolator. I haven't tried this particular coffee from a drip coffeemaker, but I have noticed with Eight O'Clock (for instance) that it is stronger from my stovetop percolator (perking for around 6-7 minutes according to a manual kitchen timer) than from my automatic electric percolator at its standard setting, and stronger and slightly different-tasting from either one of those than from a relative's electric drip coffeemaker. YMMV.

Dark, full-bodied, well-balanced
My Magnum Sumatra just came in the mail, so me and my chiropractor did a "coffee bake-off". He raves about Starbucks' Sumatra, so we decided to compare it to Magnum Sumatra. Both were brewed under the same conditions.I found the Magnum to be full-bodied, well-balanced and everything I want coffee to be. I found the Starbucks to be bitter and unpleasant. He thought the Magnum was "weak". (Fortunately, my chiropractor himself is not bitter and unpleasant!)When we remade the Starbucks with a little less grounds and the Magnum with a little more, I liked the Starbucks more, but still preferred the Magnum as being better balanced and more satisfying. How on Earth can anybody decide on coffee without actually making it, tasting it, and adjusting the parameters - water temperature, grind, etc. - to your pleasure? So all I will say is that I like Magnum Sumatra better than Starbucks Sumatra and my chiropractor likes Starbucks better. And this Magnum is $10/lb while Starbucks is $15.

Too mild for my tastes
Tried to grind and brew this 7 ways to Sunday and still came up with a smooth, but very mild (almost Chocolaty) taste. I was looking for something stronger. Sumatra is my favorite. The search continues...

Light and lively
This is a delightfully light coffee. Wonderful flavor. If you're looking for something in beetween a full body dark bean coffee, and a lighter breakfast blend coffee, this bean is perfect. Great for a Sunday morning breakfast.
