Antique Brass Bronze Dual Dispensing Paper Towel Holder Toilet Paper Dispenser Stainless Steel Wall Mount Bathroom Vintage Luxury Restroom Trifold Hand Tissue Napkin

At first glance, this paper towel dispenser looked pretty good. The faux antique brass finish was well done and was protected from scratches and scuffs in transit by plastic film pending installation. The design was good and the component parts fit together nicely. While the steel was thinner than I expected, it seemed adequately strong. A major problem was revealed when I actually used the dispenser. As shown in the photos, every time I pulled out a paper towel, the dispenser tore off a corner. Then, when the next towel was pulled out, the corner of the previous towel was released to drift to the floor while a new corner was torn off the next sheet. Initially, I thought the problem occurred because of an incompatible sheet size. However, I dismissed this hypothesis after measuring the opening and the width of the sheet and finding they had only a 1/8 inch difference. So I looked closer at the dispenser slot. That’s where I found the defect that was causing the problem. Thin steel like this tends to have sharp edges, kind of like the top from a tin can—not something you’d want in the path of a paper towel. The manufacturer attempted to bypass the potential problem by rolling the sharp edge of the slot to make it harmless. It would have worked just fine, except in this instance the rolling was not done completely. The sharp edge was still exposed in several places, snagging the towels and causing them to tear. At this point, I should have sent the unit back to Amazon. However, for all I knew, this defect was typical of the product and an exchange would have been no better. Additionally, I had to have a unit in this particular color and could find no other product to substitute for it. So instead of returning it I decided to fix it. I used an extra fine abrasive stick to bevel and round off the sharp edges around the slot. This was a chore due to the tight spaces. However, patience pays and the modifications were successful. Now the towels pull out of the dispenser as if it had never been defective--and corners are no longer torn off to litter the floor. It just took a lot of work to get there that should not have been necessary in the first place.

Color is great. Structure and material seem very good. BUT..... why is this symbol on the side?! NO WHERE is this symbol or ANY design mentioned in the description. It makes me uncomfortable. With the revealing of SO MANY companies and brands carrying pedophilia symbols on their products, this undisclosed symbol makes me very uncomfortable. I ordered 6 for my new business. Please provide an explanation for this.
