A Fairy Tale Treasury (Dover Children's Classics)

My son is African American so I saw this and was like “sure”. Well the book was better than I thought. Many of the modern edits to the stories make a lot of sense actually. In Red Riding Hood the wolf scares the grandma out of the house and she runs for help. This makes way more sense that the wolf eating everyone and them living in the wolf’s belly. Anyway great book! I hope to see more!

This book is everything. I wish I had this as a child. The artwork and detail to the African American characters is outstanding.I bought this for my niece, and my mother daw it and ended up taking it to work to show it around, 4 more people bought it for their kids as well.My niece who is 5 loves it and wants me to read it to her all the time.Also, in case your wondering Goldilocks is called Goldilocks because of the Gold Beads in her hair. Genius use of Black Characters Traditional Fairy TalesI love this book, and children do too.

I purchased this book for my little cousin since it seemed interesting and something I would have liked when I was a little girl. Although the art was beautiful, I wasn't a fan of the story telling. Other than that, this book is a good gift for young African American children.

Very well illustrated ,although it seems certain parts of each story has been slightly alternated from the original,not bad.

My daughters really enjoy this.

Wonderful treasury of stories. Beautiful illustrations and the actual stories are exactly what you would expect of such beloved classics. My 3 boys love this book.

I'm very happy with this collection! The illustrations are well-done and depict modern people of color. Bought one for every household in our family with young children.

An essential for children of colour. A refreshing change to have classic fairy tales from a black perspective. Why oh why is it so hard to get this book and others like it? Great great book.
