Great Product!
This is the 3rd one I have purchased!!! They are powerful enough to use for a pressure canner and heat up much faster than my electric stove. I do a lot of canning and have multiple pressure canners running during canning season - they do need to run on different circuits because of the electrical draw (amps?) they pull …

Great for Canning!
I purchased this hot plate after updating my stove to a glass top and being worried about putting a pressure canner on top of it.I will say, I was hesitant to spend the money on Cadco because it was a bit expensive. However, I ADORE how it has changed my canning. I have a smaller space to can and moving my pressure canner to a hot plate has given me more space. I put a towel under it and it sits to the left of my stove. I have the things I am canning on the right of my stove top and work on the left side of my stove top. It keeps the heat and saves me so much space. I highly recommend!

Very good and nice cooktop
We use this cooktop to cook pancake on sunday morning. That a family tradition in our house. I like this cooktop because he deliver plenty of heat for pancake and is sufficiant for buckwheat pancakes witch need much more heat to cook. We use a cast iron pancake skillet wich is a bit larger in diameter then the cooktop heating element. On our previous Warring cooktop, there was some plastic parts on the side, those parts got deformed because of the proximity with the cast ison skillet. In comparaison, the Cadco is completely in stainless steel. The casing become hot but stay in good shape. There is no plastic parts that could be damaged by heat.

Works well with large presto pressure canner
I moved into a new place with a glass top stove. I do a lot of canning every year. I was worried the weight would break the stove top. I bought this hot plate to use with my water bath and pressure canners. The canners are stable when sitting on the hotplate. It is a little hard to regulate the heat, but i am getting used to adjusting the dial.Overall, i would recommend this product.

Caused electrical short circuit-Returned it
I had to return it because every time I plugged it in it tripped my GFCI outlets and caused a short circuit.

CANNERS!
I purchased this because we got an induction cooktop which i love...but which also will not work with my presto canner. First, I followed instructions that said to burn off the fumes from the cure on the burner....done. Then the next thing I did was whip out my presto. IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY! Granted...it's a tad slower...but just a tad. No biggy at all. It was also easy to regulate. I had no problem getting the burner set to where the weighted pressure gauge gently rocked...and it stayed that way. I am SO GLAD I got this burner rather than the cheaper. I debated for over a week about it thinking that the cheaper burner would be just fine but knew instinctively that to can...you need a more substantial burner that can take the prolonged heat and the added weight of a full canner. I was right and this is the one that did the job perfectly.

Used for canning
This hotplate is great and we use it for a huge 30qt pressure cooker (All-American 930) on the counter. Most modern glass stovetops cannot support more than 50lbs, and the microwave, which is commonly above the stove, makes it difficult or impossible to pressure can. This solves that problem. I believe it is only rates for 15lbs or so, but we have had no issue setting a full 30qt canner on top of it. We use a smaller All-American 915 (15.5qt) for smaller batches and for on the glass stovetop.
