No and they are stretchy. I used them over plaster casts on my legs, one on a foot (with toe part cut off) to stop hinged plaster slipping off wheelchair foot rest and the other pulled up to knee area on my other leg to stop my leg slipping off of the wheelchair leg extension as couldn't bend that leg. Also used as normal socks when getting back on my feet to reduce risk of slipping .
