I have this in a 3-stage whole house filter setup. It has been solid since the first day I installed it. Having moved down to central Florida, I realized almost immediately how hard and unappealing city/county water was down here. A strong smell of sulfur and showers that left my skin dry almost immediately. After much research, i settled on a 3-stage filter setup. I did this because i didn't want to deal with salinating water every so often. While this isn't a perfect solution, it is much improved to what i have, further - it has the extra step of providing a much cleaner water table for clothes and dishes - which come out cleaner. It has been a year and 2 weeks since I installed it, so this time around was just a filter change. The process was easy and straight forward, removed cylinders washed them with a hose (didn't do the bleach cleaning as the home is a new construction as of last year when i installed the filters. Some things to note : - removing the last filter in line first and working backwards helped in removal of the first filter closest to water supply - leaving off middle filter housing while removing and installing first filter helped in ease of access to first filter (that was just my experience yours may vary). - use PLENTY of silicon lubricant on the rings ( helps to keep them doing their job for a longer time) and on the threads of the cylinder. - when you first turn off the water and remove the cylinders there will be (plenty) of water leakage, plan for this. - cleaning the cylinders will require a separate water source, my neighbors/friends were happy to let me use their hose. - ended up using one and a half small waterproof silicon lubricant tubes (got mine in plumbing isle of Lowes). - finally flush system out for a couple minutes - opened up tub faucet as it does not have an aerator which could clog with the carbon deposits that first are expelled from the system. Like i said, changing the filters was a snap - took me all of 30 minutes

I bought this to go with my whole house 3-stage water filtration system. Working together with an iron reducing filter and a carbon filter, this does a great job of cleaning up the water. Has been installed for about 3 months, and still haven't had to change it. When we moved into our new house, our well water was dirty and smelled bad. That's when I bought the Home Master HMF3SDGFEC Whole House 3 Stage Water Filtration System. This filter came with that system. Even though the system came with the filters, I ordered an extra of each because I did not know how long they would last. Still haven't had to change them. Our water is clear and has no order, my wife and I could not be happier with how well this filter and the filter system worked out. Please note this sediment filter is meant to be used with other filters, you will not get the best results by using just one filter. I believe the iron reducing filter is what removed our odor, while this sediment filter works upstream to clear out any sediment and make the finer filters downstream last longer.

Works well in filtering out sediment from San Francisco water, which used to be very good Hetch-Hetchy water. Sadly, San Francisco has been adding ground water to the mix and water quality has declined, hence the need for the sediment filter.

Love this system! Have been using in my 3-family home for 5-years. Replace every 6-months. Great value and my water smells and tastes so good. I recommend this to everyone and I am extremely picky about water quality. I think if you had a single family home you would only replace once a year. Worth it. Easy to install for my husband who had the upper body strength.

I've been very happy with the performance of this filter. I have it as part of a two stage system with activated carbon as the second stage. I'm able to run it for about a year with no noticeable pressure drop. Even on city water this filter is completely brown after a year of use so clearly it is removing a lot of contaminates from my drinking water. It also gives me piece of mind that my water softener is receiving clean incoming water. This filter combined with the carbon stage provides clean great tasting water. I always replace both filter housing o-rings when I change the filter. I also apply plenty of sanitary lubricant on the o-rings to keep the housing from becoming stuck.

I dug my well in September and fitted for pump. When the water came out it was filled with a lot of sediment and iron. I started my first filter September of 2014 and I just changed it after 5 months of use. I am sure it will last longer because after you open a new well a lot of sediment comes out for the 1st year. I have been very happy that I have no sediment come into my home. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 is because it only lasted 5 months.

The product has been great and solved the problems I had with the water that was coming from my tap. The amount of sediment and rust it's removed from my water line has been incredible. I will continue to use this brand as it does exactly as promised.
