Nice Strap
This is my 3rd Barton band and I have been completely satisfied with all of them; to include this one. I was reluctant to order due to some of the concerns voiced in other reviews, primarily regarding the thickness and comfort of the strap. I plan to replace with a Breitling buckle anyways so... Regarding the strap, it is thick, no question, and it does have a bit of a cheap feel at first blush; kinda like a G-Shock band. However, on closer inspection and actual wear, it is not a G-Shock band; it is notably better. I found the strap to wear just fine, to work as a Tropical should and keep contact with the skin to a minimum. I have a bit larger wrist and really appreciate the additional length (2nd strap) that’s included. (I have a handful of straps I find myself not wearing because they are just a little bit too short...). I tend to wear my straps a bit loose so maybe that’s why I have a more favorable opinion than some and have not experienced the discomfort described due to it being too rigid. I nearly purchased a genuine “Tropic Strap” based on my reluctance resulting from some reviews. The Tropic Strap is more than twice the price and doesn’t have the proprietary locking feature which I really appreciate; nothing is more frustrating than having the strap loop free floating all over the place like a charm bracelet. Barton has done a good job on the basket weave texture/appearance and the quick release feature, which the genuine Tropic Strap also dose not have, is so so much more functional. Don’t be mistaken, this is not an elite silicon band and it is not advertised as such, so it is unfortunately not gonna perform or feel the same. This is the only real area Barton can and probably should work to improve upon, the choice and/or softness of the material used. As for the buckle, it’s fine in my opinion, just not as good as it could be or what you might typically expect at this price point. Again, I am completely satisfied, glad I gave it a chance, and have a second one (in Army Green) on the way; it’s a win win or two for one in my mind. No 5th “star” based on material choice and subpar buckle. ✌🏼

Almost perfect
The band was a slightly different shade of blue and didn't match my watch but other than that it's a great value for the price.

Falta ser mas flexible
Parece de buena calidad y el espesor parece correcto, pero esta muy tiesa, le falta flexibilidad.

Mostly great
The clasp could be a little beefier, but otherwise it’s a nice band

Hit or Miss on Comfort (Color or Manufacturing Lot?)
I have a couple of these bands (black and gray), and there is a significant comfort difference between them. I don't know if it that's due to a different process for the colors, or if it's just variability in manufacture. The black band is fine to wear; the gray one is intolerable.BB is up front that this band uses TPU plastic, not FKM or natural rubber common in more expensive versions of the Tropic band. And the silicone BB uses in their other bands is presumably too soft to enable them to reproduce the fine Tropic weave patterns.Given those constraints, the black version I have is fine. That band is pliable enough to wear comfortably, even if it isn't up to the more luxurious standards of a real Tropic. BB gets extra credit for including two strap lengths, as the traditional 130/80mm sizing of Tropic bands is too much for my small (6") wrists. My major complaint with the black version is the keepers. Mine actually had two of the locking keepers instead of one plain keeper and one locking keeper, making it virtually impossible to thread. There is no locking slot for the inner keeper. A few minutes with a razor knife fixed that problem. Really, though, there's no need for a locking keeper at all on this band. The stiffer material, plus the serrated edges that act as a ratchet, guarantee that the band is *not* going to come loose. With the black band effectively getting 3 stars, I thought the price was good enough to get a second color. And this time time the result was very disappointing. The gray band I received is incredibly stiff. So much so that I consider it unwearable. For what it's worth, they got the keepers right: one plain and one locking. But that doesn't really matter since I won't be wearing this band at all. Gray band gets a single star: so my overall review is 2 stars. As I noted at the start, I don't know if the difference in stiffness is attributable to the different colors, or if it's just variability in the manufacturing process. But I think it explains why some reviewers find the band unwearable yet others think it's fine.

It’s okay
The plastic is thick, has rough edges and doesn’t flex properly.

Meh
Kind of hard cheap plastic and color seems a bit off from gray. Almost purple ish.
