I LOVE HOUSES!!!!
I love houses!! Even as a child, I always drew houses. However, Im not at all good at drawing. This coloring book allows me to do what I love with my huge lack of talent!!!I find these pictures challenging. I have fun coloring them. Each picture is an actual REAL house somewhere in the USA.With the exception of a few that are drawings of a type of house built in that region and era. I can read the description at the bottom of the page, then google it to see a real picture. I use that to help me with the color choices. Otherwise, I get stressed out trying to figure out what colors to use and this is supposed to be fun and relaxing.I counted 42 pictures, which includes one centerfold, which is the Monticello, Albemarle County, VA, 1770-1809. Designed and built by Thomas Jefferson. Each description includes the type of house, the name of the house, location and year it was built. There are town homes, plantation, Georgian, farm houses, log cabins, stone, Italian, cottage, revival, gothic, ranch, Pueblo, prairie, bungalow, contemporary and more. Each picture also depicts a person or two in period dress of the era that the home was built.

Fun to color!
This coloring book has highly detailed, architectural pictures for grown-ups who still love to color. And while children might possibly enjoy this type of coloring book, the finely detailed, intricate pictures would be more fully appreciated by older teens or adults.UPDATE: Apparently, coloring books for adults have come into vogue as "art therapy." Coloring is relaxing and can reduce stress. I could have told them that years ago! Keep on coloring people! 5/2015

This is good for a coloring book...
This is good for a coloring book, I gave it to my 8 year old niece who said she wanted to be an architect. Not sure what ever happened with it as I never heard about it again. Not sure if she lost interest as she plays with electronic devices more now!

Nice book of exteriors.
There is a lot of tiny detail in the illustrations that will make it hard to color but they are very beautiful and I love the "story" behind each one. All pictures are exteriors, no interior design.

Informative book on house styles and architecture
This is a double sided paged coloring book. Each page has information on the homes pictured and the design style. I found it to be an interesting read as well as a fun after dinner stress reliever.

Sheets to Thin
The illustrations are great, but the paper they are printed on are all very thin, I know it was only $5 bucks but come on and use some thicker paper, otherwise if you use pens count on bleed thru.I would have also wanted it printed one sided if such thin paper was going to be used. All the Doyer Coloring Books I purchased are really made very cheaply with regards to the paper. I would suggest avoiding these guys or at least making copies on thicker paper to color on with pens. Kind of a fail for people that work with paper every single day!

Great!
I love the houses shown. I wish I could visit some of these. I love the fact that they used real houses for this book.

It is what it says
+ detailed buildings- not much on landscape for those houses with grounds+ interesting information on the era, builder, location of each house- drawings on both sides of page+ paper good quality- concern about marker bleed-throughFor those who are concerned with having to color too many bricks, that was what was considered cheap, strong, available for many. As some of the American Architecture was based on other country's architecture, stone/brick were used to replicate as closely as possible. This will be one of my ACB for that "Mood".

This isgood for practising pressure and detail work.
Paper very thin so not for keeping. One has to accept the over stylised US images, but would prefer o book similar on GB architecture.

Fantastic!
Forty-three gorgeously-drawn houses grace the pages of this book. There are many architectural styles and time periods illustrated each with a short summary of information about the style and specific house shown. House styles include the soddy, log cabin, Georgian townhouse, Louisiana plantation, Queene Anne, and so much more! This book is best enjoyed by adults or older children as there is very fine detailing and a lot of greenery to be coloured with the homes which some might find monotonous.

sehr gute ausmalvorlagen!
