Love this Bag
I am new to both photography and hiking but I have really been enjoying both. I decided to treat myself to this bag since I didn't really have anything suitable for carrying equipment and basic necessities as I move to longer trails and beyond beginner trails.I wanted something small and lightweight since I am a beginner but that could grow with me a little bit as I gain more experience. While you do have the option to take out the camera bag and use that space, without doing that this is a pretty small backpack. That being said the top 'non-camera' section is pretty spacious for the size of the bag. You can fit a compact jacket, some snacks, a small first aid kit, and other necessities pretty easily. It also has a small pouch on the waistband that is great for quick-access items. If you do take out the camera pouch this more than doubles the size of the bag and you can attach it to the waistband. I think if you are regularly doing hikes where you need to do this it is probably time to upgrade to a bigger bag, but for someone like me where this is the exception instead of the rule, it is great to have the flexibility.I also love that I can just use the camera bag as an insert in my other bags as well!It has lots of well-thought-out pockets and accessories for photographers and I am just really happy I decided to splurge on this for myself. One thing I have not tried and do not have a lot of experience with is the hydration pocket so I can't comment too much on that.I have a canon m6 ii and can fit my camera with a lens on it and an extra lens easily. I have a little room left over that I could maybe fit a pancake lens or extra batteries.Overall I highly recommend this bag. I am sure there are more 'serious' hikers where a bag of this size would not be suitable but for me it is perfect.

Too small
The 15L would probably suit kids

Great size for on-the-move camera gear
I really miss the Lowepro sling-shot series. I've got a 10-year old Sling-Shot 100 (150?). It was the perfect travel size. I've tried several different backpacks and could never find the right for travel photography. This feels like the logical successor. It's a good day-pack approach to protecting your camera. A Nikon Z7ii just barely fits. There's room up top for a few essentials and plenty of anchor points on the outside for hats/coats/tripods.

A great backpack for a small camera
It fits one small camera body, extra lens should be stored in the main compartment.
