When I opened my package the scoop was damaged from one of the flap hinges that keeps the litter inside the scoop. They are flimsy and made of plastic. I'm unsure who thought it'd be a good idea to design them so poorly. The school handle itself is easily detachable and breaks in half while scooping. I used the defective scoop only a handful of times and encountered this error as well.I was fortunate enough to get a hold of the Neater Scooper customer service representatives and they are shipping out a new scoop for me. I'm truly looking forward to trying out the product without the defects. I am very impressed with their polite tactfulness to help me resolve my issue.

I didn’t really like the fact that when you go to scoop you sometimes rub the bottom in the liter and when shaking you do occasionally get clean liter in the container since you’re shaking right there and when it gets to be almost full the lid stays down and there’s still space in the bag for more but it starts to fall back out. Other than that I do really like it.

I do not like how small it is. Don’t mean to be gross, but this is a kitty litter cleaner item. The clumps from when my cat urinates is sometimes too big to fit thru the trap door. Also, You have to balance it at the right angle when scooping. If you don’t, if tilted to far back as you scoop, the trap door opens and all the litter goes in the box instead of getting sifted. If the collection box were bigger it would be perfect. I’m still using it though, but if it breaks or wears out, I won’t replace it.

From reading reviews before buying, my assumption was the little trap door which opens to allow scooped litter to slide into the receptacle would CLOSE again, but that is only true if after scooping, you lay the whole thing on its side. If it’s upright, the flap opens automatically, which means I have gained almost nothing by using this except not having to hold a waste bag open to put scooped litter into - if you want to store a day’s worth of clumps before taking it out, the scooper is just open, which means everything you scooped into it is just smelling up the room, since you apparently have to tie up the bag and change it every time you scoop the box. How is this any real improvement? I am annoyed and disappointed. I have looked the whole thing over, but it arrived assembled, with extra bags inside and I cannot figure out any way to close the trap door after scooping except to lay the whole thing on it’s side. Ridiculous.

...after the one I bought more than three years ago had to be finally discarded. This is a great, no-touch way to clean your cat's litter boxes with no muss, no fuss, simple, and easy to use. Reading other reviews I just want to say...OF COURSE you have to clean the litter boxes at least once a day! Many days I clean them twice a day, depending my cat's ...uh, production. It's healthier for cats and humans!I have a 20-pound cat and grass seed clumping litter -- the clumps are enormous because he drinks a lot of water but the bin holds it all!TBH, I do buy separate and stronger poop bags once I've used the bags that come with the scooper, and I don't always keep the scoop part attached but use the bin for scoop storage between cleanings.All of this adds up to a great product. Buy.
