I have the 24" which weigh approx. 17.45 g

Q: Would this support a large pendant? I realize it will be a guess, but have a tourquoise approx 4 inch pendant and hopefully it's strong enough

Q: IWhat chain gets tangled in hair

Chain does not get tangled in hair. Sometimes one hair will get caught in it, just like any chain.

Q: Are these waterproof? If I wear it to pool or sunscreen gets on it will it be a problem?

It's best not to wear it in chlorinated or salt water as this can damage the sterling silver.
