I just received this today, was looking forward to looking at this edition as I hesitated between buying this edition or the first edition from the 90s. The photo quality is appalling and I never write a review so I am doing this now to warn any other fan of the Velvets. This group was definitely a visual group and the very poor quality of photo reproduction in this book is shocking. Think cheap photocopier with little ink left in the cartridge! Sure the text is legible but the visuals are just rubbish, what a let down, is it just a bum copy or is this what to expect from all this edition of the book? , anyone else had the same problem? Beware anyway.

Not really the Velvet Underground story, more a collation of thoughts and quotes flung together. Would have preferred a more in depth look at the band. Not a poor book by any means just not what I was hoping for.Ray Smillie

Bought it for a friend who is really into the Velvet Underground and Nico. She really appreciated it.

Even if you're not wowed by Bokris' narrative, it's factual and makes sense of a very chaotic history. And as for the photos- this is, hands down, the definitive book on the Velvets.

This is more like a magazine than a book. Thats the only thing I didnt like but other than that its cool.

If you're a fan of the Velvets and want to delve into the details, this book is amazing. It's packed with interviews and really cool pictures.
