Great chapter book to keep preschoolers and elementary aged boys and girls entertained!
We went to the bookstore over the summer to let the kids pick out some books and my soon-to-be kindergartner wanted to get a chapter book like big brother so we found Emily Windsnap. We spent the next several weeks reading a chapter a day, much to their delight, and then she asked for this 2nd book for Christmas so we are working through it now. Even big brother likes to listen in on the story. :)In the first book, Emily Windsnap (the main character) lives on a houseboat with her mom and gets a little bullied at school by one of the characters. When she has to do a swimming class for gym (even though she has never swam before and is terrified of the water), she ends up underwater and finds that her legs morph into a mermaid tail. She hides it from her classmates but ventures out at night to try again. Then she meets a young mermaid girl named Shona, who tells her about being a mermaid and takes her exploring. They eventually discover that her father is a mermaid and was put in mermaid jail for having a relationship with a human. Shona and Emily go to rescue her dad and then reunite him and her mother (who had been having her memory slowly wiped by a worker of the sea king, Neptune). They convince Neptune to reverse his decision about it being illegal for mermaids and humans to be together. He then sends them to live on a special island where they can live together away from humans. This book picks up where the last left off, as they move to their new home. We're not very far into it, so I'll update after we read more. :)

Fun book for girls ages about 8 or older. Easy to read and a good storyline
This was a gift for my young niece. It is a fun read for anyone ages 9 or older. This is a series and I have given her the first two books in the series and she has enjoyed them.

Good book for a 8 - 11 year old
Daughter and I read this one together. Nice story. Bit of mystery. Not too scary to read before bedtime. Good friend messages and good empowered young women role models.

Incredibly Amazing
I loved this book so much, I love all of these books and I am so excited to read more. It had a lot of fun twists and turns and had me hanging off the edge of my seat. I would definitely recommend this book for people who like fantasy and are a bit more girly, but even if you aren't girly, I assure you, you will love it. Easily Five stars, no doubt about it.
