Our friend’s niece (2 yrs old) loves Shabbat dinner. She went crazy for the set. It is solid wood and there are so many pieces. What a great value!

I bought this for my 1.5 year old because I saw she really enjoyed being Ima at school.SO GLAD I BOUGHT IT. Right out of the box she started swishing her hands and covering her eyes and saying “blessings”. I take it out for her Fridays before I light my own candles and she loves it so much and doesn’t get bored of it like other toys. It’s a great way to start pretend play young. It has a bit of developmental play, like pegging the candles and cutting the challah HOWEVER one of the holders has a smaller hole so it has to really get jammed in, and the challah knife, while really nice, is too thick to really cut the challah.

KidKraft Shabbat Set is a great set for kids to play with. They like it and love playing with it. The wooden challah comes in slices that can be attached with the pieces of velcro on them. The "knife" is just a piece of wood used to pretend to cut the already sliced challah. It isn't sharp at all. They also like pretending to light the candles. You stick the wooden holder into the space in the candlestick, then put the "match" that has "fire" on it into the hole in the wooden holder. The kiddush cup is purple - the perfect color. The silver colored paint on the candlesticks looks as real as a kid's toy can get. This set will only break if handled extremely roughly. Don't try to throw it, and you should be fine.I recommend this toy.

We bought this for my grandson's birthday. He had played with one just like it at our synagogue's toddlers' play room and loves it. The "challah" is "pre-sliced" and to appear whole the slices are connected with Velcro. The one of the synagogue has proven to be durable and sturdy with dozens of kids playing with it. But on the first day we opened the box and he played with it (with great gusto), the Velcro on the challah slices came off each slice. Clearly a defect at the factory. Rather than return it via Amazon, we called KidKraft and they were very helpful. They told us it would cost them more to replace just the challah, or process it if we returned it. So they said we should keep the defective set and they would send us a new one. It hasn't come yet, but I will report if there is a problem.

The set was great, thought my order was missing the challah cutting knife. Also I wanted to add that the grape/wine juice container isn't made of wood it's plastic, everything else is wood though. Everything was nicely made and the packaging was good.

Amazing quality! All the items are so beautiful and look just like the photo. I wish the wine bottle was also wooden, it is plastic, but all the other elements are built to last! Our toddler loves this set. Would definitely recommend.

We are really impressed with all of the details of this play Shabbat set. It’s great quality too. The only problem is that my baby dropped one of the challot and some Velcro dots came off. I will have to re glue. But seriously so sturdy and well made. It’s just beautiful. I will totally be buying more to give for birthday gifts.
