From the Manufacturer A challenging 600-piece puzzle of the world that has individual pieces shaped like the world's 192 countries. A great way to learn geography while having fun.

More ocean than anything else.
The problem with this puzzle aside from the fact that the small countries are bunched together (making them basically unidentifiable) is that it is almost all water. You have to get the water together which takes time away from focusing on the countries. It is true that there are facts about countries written on the water. Which is great, except that you expect when you see a fact about Ireland that the piece is going to go somewhere around Ireland, right? Wrong, it is down around the Samoan islands or something. None of the facts about the countries go near their respective countries which seems a little counter-productive if you are trying to learn the locations of different countries. This is a fun PUZZLE. It is really cool and I liked putting it together. But it really didn't help teach anyone anything... and the kids bounced as soon as they failed at putting together the black frame. So I would say this doesn't work very well as an educational tool, especially for children. I would order the separate country puzzles instead. We ended up downloading unmarked maps of the continents and making the kids fill in what country was which while they colored them.

Cool puzzle, not highest quality pieces
We are really enjoying this puzzle, and learning a lot. The information written on the oceans makes the puzzle more interesting and manageable. The pieces are necessarily very small to match the size of the countries. The bigger problem is that they curl up just a bit, so the pieces don't lie flat as you make the puzzle. This is frustrating, and you don't get that satisfying feeling as you put a piece in, as you have to press it down a few times and it still doesn't quite flatten down. I'm trying covering the finished puzzle with heavy books, but I suspect it's just a problem of cheap glue.Still, I give it four stars since a good world puzzle is very hard to find, and the content is good.

Addictive!
I'm not a "puzzle person," but the Global Puzzle was a surprising treat! I wanted to learn about world geography in a fun way, and this puzzle did not disappoint. The ocean pieces are shaped like ordinary interlocking puzzle pieces, but the countries were shaped as they actually are and do not interlock. This made it difficult to keep everything together (they kept sliding apart). But if you follow the suggestion on the box and fit all the ocean pieces first, it's much easier to fill in the countries. Overall, I would say this puzzle is unique and quite fun. But be careful--it's addictive! Once you start, you won't want to stop until it's finished.

Global Puzzle Review
I love puzzles and maps and wanted to work on learning the location and names countries of the world so I found this puzzle as a fun way to get started. The puzzle pieces are strangly shaped and some are very small so you need to make sure you are working on a hard surface with an uncluttered surface area. The best way to go about the puzzle is to NOT look at a map while putting it together- challenge your memory!

596 piece puzzle
Brand new out of the box my wife and I completed this puzzle, almost. All except Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland. One random piece I would have blamed myself. But four? And all connected to each other? Not a coincidence. Someone at the factory really doesn't like Canada.Otherwise, a fun puzzle but not really for kids. Hope you have a stable table because the countries don't interlock so everytime you bump the table, even just a little, it's an earthquake.Took me over half the puzzle to figure out the facts and info written on the oceans were alphabetized. It was easy after that.It wasn't a total waste. It killed a rainy afternoon for my wife and I. So if you like geography and don't mind incomplete puzzles, this is the puzzle for you.

Misleading
The puzzle is advertised as having country shaped pieces, which it does, but the larger countries are jigsawed into smaller pieces. My son has a puzzle of the states that he loves, with all 50 pieces shaped like the states. It is a larger puzzle. California is about 10".I had hoped this world map would offer him something similar, that he would enjoy playing with the individual country shaped pieces, but only some of the countries are intact, while others are made of many numerous pieces. He is enjoying it, but not as much as if it were true to its description and he could manipulate the countries as entire pieces.

I liked that the pieces were mostly the shape of the countries but it made it hard to keep sections together because they didn’t stay attached. Still glad i bought it
