Dakota 283 T1 Kennel - Dark Granite

I got this to transport my new Cardigan Welsh Corgi and it fits the vehicle and dog perfectly. Well built for piece of mind if anything falls on it or in an accident.

Needed to be able to “flip” the door so that the would go side by side and open in the passenger side door. The other models are changeable. Doesn’t mention this difference anywhere

Really like this kennel, have a Gunner kennel for a Lab, and now the Dakota 283 Low Profile for a 32lb. Mini Bernedoodle. The Dakota 283 is NOT double walled like the Gunner, and the door is NOT reversible. With just a slight change to the door frame and the shape of the door opening, Dakota could make this much more user friendly. Very disappointing!

Pricey for sure, so I hesitated before giving it a shot. Super happy I went ahead with it. This is a SOLID and secure crate, while still being easy to use, and large enough even for a shepherd. The fact that it fits under a tonneau cover is a huge plus - because not only will it tie down cleanly in your truck, its low profile means even in a car or SUV it won't obstruct your rear view. This is a huge safety plus, not to mention more room for cargo. It also keeps my nervous dog from barking at every vehicle, because he is comfortably snug in the crate, can turn around and stretch, but cannot pace, stare out the windows, or get himself worked up. I feel great that he's safe, and we're all happy that he's no longer stressing us out!
