Very good...with two minor flaws
I like these muffs, they knock out the noise but are still comfortable enough to wear for a long period of time. I used them while in my shop for 8 hours to cut the noise and to allow me to listen to music. I have to say that they did a pretty decent job of it too.One thing that is neither positive nor negative, when you are listening to music through them your best option is to turn the knob to 'on' and no further. They have no volume control for audio that is being sent to them through the input jack. As in, in order to control the volume you have to use the device that is playing the audio. I don't think this is a big deal, it was just a little surprising when I found it out. Outside noises will still be amplified through them if you do turn the volume up and the sound attenuation does still work when the noise levels reach 85ish decibels (can't remember exactly how many it says). As far as them fitting anyone, I would generally agree with that. They fit my average sized head really well and I only had to adjust them once because of a hot spot in a 8 hour period, that's outstanding for someone who usually wears 'in-ear' hearing protection. Plus, my 4 and 6 year old daughters love wearing them around the house and goodness knows, if there is something to complain about and little girl in that age range would find it.I think they are slightly thicker than the Howard Leights, but the difference is negligible. If you want much thinner or higher quality, the price goes up quick. The two flaws...1. After the first use a crackling developed in the right ear, it didn't do it all the time, but it was pretty irritating. Not sure if it's a loose wire or what, but it's there. I'll try replacing the brand new batteries that I just put in it to make sure that's not what it is. Not to mention that my Howard Leights do exactly the same thing from time to time....kinda wonder if it's me....2. This is nit picky but the flag that they choose to represent the flag of the United States of America is a poorly done copy of the flag from May 11, 1858 when Minnesota became the 32 State of the Union. They managed to get the 13 strips right, but they are way off on the stars. Hard to blame somebody from a foreign country for getting someone else's flag wrong, but I will be removing the patch, throwing it in the garbage and finding a suitable replacement.

Solid set solid price
So I have used non-electronic headphones my entire life until about a month ago I used my friends pair of electronic noise cancelling ear protection (this exact pair). He has the coyote color, but I much prefer the all black and the flag looks bada**. I am never going back to non-electronic ear protection. I usually should at our outdoor range which is private, so talking to people is not an issue. I now live in an area that has an indoor range and these are an absolute MUST if you shoot at an indoor range that requires ear protection at all times. I cannot believe it took me this long to get a pair.Another note…I have not tried, but I plan on attempting to use these while deer hunting as the ambient amplification seems superb. These could heighten my sense of hearing if you turn the volume all the way up. Noise cancellation works promptly when gunfire occurs. I am guessing the way it works is it will amplify anything over a certain decibel range and not transmit anything above that decibel value. I have not had issue talking to people with them on. I would highly recommend this set

Fully protected
First, these earmuffs are fully adjustable and can be worn by practically anyone in my household. Next, these are extremely comfortable to wear. I didn't find that I had to adjust these earmuffs constantly, like I used to with my old ones. The padding that surrounds these earmuffs are really comfortable and soft around my ears. I don't feel any of the plastic that is on the inside which makes it great for wearing for long periods of time. The main thing is I don't hear any loud noises, especially when firing my gun. Whether I'm practicing with my handgun or my rifle, I will hear a slight noise but nothing as if I were to wear nothing. I do have sensitive ears but with these earmuffs, no issues at all. Not to mention, they do what they say they do and protect my hearing. The flag on these is fully removable but I've chosen to have it stay on there.

Not perfect but well worth the money
My wife and I are recent shooting hobbyists and needed ear protection. We couldn't justify spending premium prices for noise canceling headphones when we only go to the range maybe once a month for an hour or so each time. After much research and review searching, we decided to try these out. I ordered a black set and a green set at the same time. I was happy and surprised the green set came in a great little hard, zippered carrying "case", disappointed that the black did not. It wasn't advertised as coming with a carrying case so I can't really complain. Anyhoo, these do an acceptable job of canceling out the bangs of gunfire and yet making conversation possible between shots. I didn't try the aux cord with any kind of music player because I prefer to not be distracted at the range so I can't comment on the function or quality of that. I'm sure more expensive ones would fit better but these are fine with a little wiggling and adjusting. Not too heavy and plenty comfy.

Couple of flaws but excellent value
Overall this is a good value set of hearing protection. Got a pair to use outdoors and so far they have held up nicely. This set collapses/ folds up really nicely and were very compact. Muffles sound very well and the amplifier works well for talking (but sounds crackly sometimes). They fit my head decently and did not feel like it applied excess pressure against my head. One complaint would be that the covering on the foam cups were damp and stuck to the side of my face after being in the hot sun for about 2 hours but they were still comfortable to wear while still muffling loud sounds. Really fine detail flaw is that the flag patch does not have the right number of stars. Cool feature is the ability to plug in aux cable to listen to music. There is no volume control on the earmuffs themselves but you can control it on your phone/device. Overall, excellent purchase value. Batteries not included.
