Zen Water Systems Ultra Filtration Membrane Filter

I ordered 2 of these so that I'd be good with my 8 gallon Zen system and my extra 5 stage filters and extra stones for 2 years. They came in baggies, hand tied in a knot. Dirty inside, and no instructions. As usual, Amazon is awesome with customer service and replaced them the very next day but the same thing happened. I think I figured out how to use them myself, but they are definitely not from Zen Water Systems. Having said all that, I installed one and is seems to be working, though I have no idea if I was supposed to prep it somehow first because of no instructions. We'll see I guess.

I replaced both filters on my 4 gallon zen water filter as well as replacing the stones. I figured I would try this new filter but if just would not let water through. It had no instructions nor was I able to find any. I soaked it.... installed it (seemed simple enough) and maybe a cup of water went through over night? so i tried again... removed it, cleaned everything, soaked it, installed it... same result... maybe a cup of water over night. Glad I had another ceramic filter to put in.I guess I'm happier with ceramic anyway as it is less plastic to throw out.

My mistake as I ordered the wrong item, so can't really say how good it works.

THE CERAMIC FILTER DOES A BETTER JOB....

I purchased this filter and was pleased originally. I used it for 3 weeks and went on vacation for 2 weeks. When I returned the water had a musty molded smell maybe because no water had gone through it for 2 weeks.I called Zen and reported the problem to Amazon who replaced both filters.Both are working great. Both companies are great to work with

This product fails after a few weeks. When the first one just started letting water pass right through instead of filtering it, I bought another one instead of returning the first one, now I wish I had since the window for returning it quite conveniently has passed. Run 2 gallons through in less than an haour versus less than 1 gallon through ceramic filter per hour. I have a 4 gallon crock unit so I have 4 gallons with the crock and the 2,5 gallon tank after filtering...

Zen is a great low cost alternative to using filtered water. Never had any problems using Zen products.
