If I plan on using all wireless equipment, do I need a control panel with this keypad?

Yes you need an alarm control panel. The 6160RF is only a keypad/wireless receiver. It is hard wired to the alarm control panel and needs the control panel for power, and to process the signals that it receives. The alarm control panel is the "brains" of the system, and the keypad is your way of telling the panel what you want it to do.

Can i mix 6160 and 6160rf keypads with the ademco vista 20p? i would like to control my z-wave thermostat and use keyfobs to enter the home.

Yes, the Vista 20P control will support one 6160RF and up to seven additional 6160's. Be sure and watch your power supply load. The Vista 20P aux power output is rated at 600mA. A 6160RF uses 220mA and a 6160 uses 120mA. So be sure and add up your total load and add another power supply when needed.

What is the warranty on this keypad?

Honeywell's one year warranty only applies to products purchased through their distributor by an alarm dealer, and installed by that dealer. Our company warranties the product for one year from date of purchase through our store on Amazon.

The 6160 is a alpha numeric keypad that wires directs to the vista 20 p panel. The panel can be hardwired to standard door/window contacts. Wireless contacts need an RF receiver. The wiring diagram is pretty simple.
