Not real metal, but a good shave bowl
I was expecting, based on item description and title, an actual stainless steel bowl. The bowl I got doesn't appear to be metal, however...it's lighter weight, has no "clink" when you tap it, etc. It's almost like plastic painted with something to make it appear metallic, I'm not sure. But it's a lovely bowl, no flaws or defects as other reviewers have received, and the plus side to it not being real metal is that I was able to put it in the microwave along with the shave soap puck I needed to melt/liquify. So it works, and I have no complaints. I would probably even buy it again, since being able to microwave it keeps another dish clean. We'll see how it holds up.

Should last a long time.
Very nice shaving bowl. I like the fact that it has lower sides and a wide flat-ish bottom. Has a nice feel in my hand when developing a lather with my brush. I had expected the lid to have a tighter fit. As designed it just loosely sits on the bowl more like a dust cover than a protective lid. Ended up tossing the lid in a bathroom drawer. So don't plan to put the lid on the bowl and then put the bowl into a bag of some kind and travel with this product. For use in my bathroom (where I bought it to use) it works very well.

Good Quality - Slippery and Hard to Hold
Very nice bowl. Appears to be stainless and has a nice wide base to hold a large puck. Low sides make it easy to get a nice lather going. No dents or dings and the finish feels like it will laugh a lifetime justifying the price.Dropped a star because it's a bit difficult to hold in one hand while lathering the soap. Slips and slides out of your hand unless it's totally dry or you have monster paws.

Great addition to your gear
Nicely made bowl. Very clean design and looks good with my chrome stand. The lid fits well and it is nicely polished. I have the large bowl for working up lather from creams but it is too big for a puck. I wanted something to hold a Taylor of Old Bond Street refill so I could load my brush and work it in the big bowl. This is almost perfect, but still a little wide. The lid keeps it neat and I like that. I recommend it for anyone wanting a quality bowl for their kit.

It's a bowl
Limited use so far but I don't see much changing with more use. I use cream, not soap, and put some in and it lathers up well. I was just using my hand before and this is a lot better. Clean up is quick. I can fit the jar of shaving cream in it for storage so that's nice.

Heavy and attractive.
It’s the real deal! I am apprehensive when it come to buying something online that I’m not all that familiar with; having to rely on the seller descriptions which can be biased at best. This bowl, however, is everything that was advertised. Not some cheap electroplated bowl. It is heavy duty, stainless, and perfect for holding my shaving soap. Plenty of room to brush up a good lather and not too “loud” so my wife “allows” me to keep it on the vanity. My only complaint is I can only give 5 stars.

Not So Hot
This is an attractive bowl and does the simple job of holding a cake of shaving soap well. The one problem is that - being metal - it cools the water used to make shaving foam. So, the foam you apply to your face with the brush is tepid, not hot like the water you just used to wet the brush.

Feels and looks nice, but performance seems underwhelming.
I've used this for a while, and it's okay. It doesn't really insulate the lather at all, and I don't get very good results from it. I've been eyeing a ceramic bowl with ridges at the bottom to help with the lathering, since this bowl is basically frictionless, I feel like it doesn't generate much lather.
