I see it says up to 12 hours whats the actual average time?

only used one and it lasted well past 12 hours

do they work at temps below 40 degrees?

Just don’t turn on the microwave. There not made to be under extreme heat. They like the cold better then heat and last longer the colder they are. Enjoy I bought mine and couldn’t stop snapping them everywhere specially great for the yard on Halloween 🎃 I have about 20 left for That. I use them for fishing as well.. good luck
