Menotek Mini Displayport Plus USB to HDMI With Audio For MacBook

Worked for a few days then broke. The light didn't light-up any more and I got no audio or video. Two stars because the seller gave me a refund. It is a nice idea to have video/audio together, but apparently the technology to combine the two hasn't been perfected or was just made shoddily (considering many people have had this break). Those of us with MacBooks who were unfortunate enough to be caught in Apple's schemes are just out of luck in regards to the combined HDMI cable. I just do it separately with a video only adapter and run a separate audio cable to some speakers.

I've bought cord after cord, trying to get audio to go through the TV (in my case our surround sound reciever) with my mid 2009 Macbook Pro. This one does it. Plug in the mini display and USB into your computer and the HDMI into the adapter and boom, picture and audio. It's what you're looking for.

This was an all-around disappointment. Although the brand is advertised as "Menotek," I received a brand called "Monoprice," which did not work at all. J-Tech/Amazon refunded my original purchase price but I paid an additional $7 shipping to get it to them. If it was a return I would understand paying the shipping, but the product was defective and it wasn't even technically what I ordered.

I use it with iMac 27" (late 2009) connected to 50 inch Panasonic Plasma. Works as advertised. Picture scale 100% (no overscan)Cons : Its only transfer stereo sound (no 5.1)

As advertised, this turned my 42" TV into my new computer screen giving me a second option for internet streaming and DVD playback.

The item was received quickly and works perfectly! I have used the item multiple times and the quality of the picture and sound is very good.

It works ok, This is already old tech, you can get a hdmi to mini displayport with sound in the same cable, this is very bulky.

When it works, it works great, but sometimes I just cannot get the computer and tv to connect no matter what I try...
