I am by no means a professional chef, and I need all the help I can get, especially when cooking whole chickens in the oven. My chicken came out so juicy and fall off the bone because I have a thermometer tell me when to take it out of the oven. If you think you don’t need a food thermometer, you are wrong it has saved me from so many pieces of dry and over cooked meat, because I’m afraid of serving undercooked food so I would leave it in for an extra 5 to 10 minutes just to be safe. Received mine this week and was able to use it two days later.First of all, I really like the shape and easy to use.The automatic on off feature is really cool. We made a good sized roast beef and the temperature readings were clear and seemed accurate. When it was done cooking, based on the suggested temperature we found that the inside was just perfect .No problem recommending this item

Works great, turns on and off when you open/close it, which is brilliant. And the helpful cooking temperatures printed on the thermometer is brilliant. No need to Google if your meat is the right temp. Haven't used the extra gubbins that came with it, because the basic unit is all you need.
