Q: Does this connect wirelessly to iphone, or does it need an hdmi cable to mirror the phone?

No wireless media sharing capabilities. I purchased an RCA splitter with 1 HDMI-In and 4 RCA-Out and hard wired a power inverter to connect a fire stick. It is all tucked neatly and out of sight. All 4 screens play the same video simultaneously, fire stick audio connects to factory head unit via bluetooth (no static compared to XTRONS built-in FM transmitter), and devices like fire tv, fire stick, chromecast, etc. will enable you to screen mirror almost any mobile device without running a cable directly to your phone. Heads up, black trimming was more of a purple color, but this is a bargain when it comes to headrest monitors.

Q: Can it be wired to head unit?

Yes. I have two wired to my DVD player head unit. There is a multi-pin cable provided that has composite video, audio and power that you will need to tap into a 12V supply somewhere in the car. You will have to do some splicing or some soldering, but it makes for a nice installation because you have just one wire carrying your video and power to the monitor.

Q: Where does this ship from? is it from the usa or china? how long for prime delivery?

Mine came from China and took about 2 weeks due to the additional time clearing U.S. customs. Ordered mine during pandemic if that helps give an estimate. I did call XTRONS and they confirmed sometimes they come from California, it just depends on their inventory at the time of order.

Q: What type of power plug does tho unit have?

It comes with two different types. Both connect to the displays wiring via a 5 or 6 pin connector (had mine in a while and memory is fuzzy on that detail). 1 of them plugs directly into a cigarette lighter outlet and the other is if you plan to hard wire the display. Both ways are simple, just your preference on how clean you want it to look and how comfortable you are with tapping into vehicle's power/ground source.
