I don't know much about sea sponges or the difference between the wool and regular ones, but this one is very soft. It is marked as a wool sea sponge on the packaging. I did notice a bad smell coming from the sponge that I cannot describe. I'm sure that after a few uses with some scented bath soap the smell will go away. Overall this sponge is the perfect size for my 15 month old son and is soft enough not to scratch his sensitive skin. What I like about sea sponges is that I read they don't grow mold or bacteria like synthetic bathing sponges do and they are supposed to last longer than the synthetic versions as well. All I know is that using this sponge in the bath makes it easier for me to bathe my son & it is the perfect size. *7/25/16 UPDATE I've had this sponge for a while now and use it nightly to bathe my son. Every night I use this sponge to wash/rinse his hair, wash his body and face. It holds water nicely, suds up fast and is super soft. I'm very happy with this sponge and love that it is soft because my son has eczema- the last thing I want is something that will irritate his skin or scratch him. Right after his bath I rinse this sponge out with clean water, squeeze to get all the water out and let it air dry. We've had no problems at all and this is the right size sponge for my son to bathe himself when he's older.

I love this sponge. It's perfect for my little one. It's super soft, yet very absorbent and cleans my baby really well. It does fall apart after awhile. My baby is 16 months and I'm on my second one. I recently just bought another one because we have another baby on the way and I want to make sure we have a back up when the second one falls apart. I hate using anything else on my little one.

I was skeptical about a natural sponge. I wasn't sure if it would be soft enough to use on sensitive skin. I should not have been. This sponge is awesome. Out of the package it felt kind of weird, rough. But once it gets wet, it is so soft and pleasant to use. I absolutely love it and will never go back to wash cloths. I did a little research and saw that a yellow sea sponge like I bought will last up to 4 years. That's amazing. Also, they have natural enzymes that fight bacteria and mold. What more could you ask for? I highly recommend these and this one was a great price as well.

I first bought this sponge after my friend recommended it for my newborn. It was awesome, so soft and yet sturdy, perfect for soft baby skin. My girl loved playing with it in her bath, too. After about three or four months of every day use, it started falling apart, so I ordred a new one. I received a different product. Yet it was in the same packaging as the first one, it was a different type of sponge. I couldn't say it was "natural" anymore. Much harder, one side of it was so hard that it was more like a sanding paper than a sponge. Of course, I couldn't use it on my baby anymore. The first sponge? Five stars. The second? Zero.

This is hands down the best sponge to clean a child with. I've been using them on my now almost 3yo since she was a baby. She has very sensitive skin and struggles with eczema. These sponges are so gentle and unbelievably soft so she never complains when I wash her off after meals or for bath time. They also do a fabulous job with holding soap so the suds are great and you don't have to use an excessive amount of soap when cleaning. The downside to these sponges is that they are very fragile. I tend to replace them every 4 or so months b/c they fall apart. However, I've tried other brands and found that they were not as soft so I'll happily replace these and keep using them.

It’s worth the price, great for sensitive skin, lathers well, it makes bathing easy.

This sea sponge is very easy to clean and very soft once it's wet. I love that it's super absorbent and I can use it to pour water on my son, because he usually takes my cup away. After I am done showering him I ring it out and dab it on his wet skin and it absorbs most of the wetness and I don't have a super wet towel and an almost dry toddler. After bath, I just make sure no soap is left and I put it to dry for the next time. It has a wonderful sea water smell, but it's not overwhelmingly smelly.

I ordered this item end of last year and it was great for my newborn. I was so pleased with it that I ordered a replacement in September 2016. The product I received was HALF the size of the one ordered 10 months back. While it is much softer than the previous, it's more delicate and so very easily rips apart. I thought they had sent me a faulty product and Amazon was very prompt in replacing the item. The replacement also was half size. Left was the old one and right is the new fragile one already ripped with couple of uses

Soft but not natural

Scrivo questa recensione dopo un anno di utilizzo, e posso dire che la spugna ha iniziato a rovinarsi solo da poco. Infatti è davvero morbida, ma anche molto resistente. Non paragonabile con altri prodotti di marche più conosciute, che oltre ad essere dure, si sbriciolano velocemente. Purtroppo non è sempre disponibile su Amazon, quindi in certi periodi risulta essere davvero costosa. Non posso che consigliarla!

Ich mag diesen Schwamm für meine Tochter und werde nie wieder was anderes für sie benutzen. Ich finde diesen super weich und angenehm, der Schaum verteilt sich auch toll drin. Es fühlt sich so toll an. Habe schon andere billigere ausprobiert, aber keiner kann diesem das Wasser reichen
