Lactose sensitive BEWARE!
If you are Lactose sensitive, PLEASE BE AWARE of mixing in the appropriate number of scoops per serving for a gallon of milk.I made the mistake of following a reviewers directions to add only ONE SCOOP of lactase powder per gallon of milk when in fact, based on my product label (8.8 oz. container) it would actually take a total of 21 SCOOPS of lactose powder with the scoop provided. Please do the math and save yourself severe stomach pain and all of the wonderful side affects associated with Lactose intolerance.Directions on the 8.8 oz. container state:One scoop per 4 to 8 ounce serving. A gallon of milk has 128 ounces, divided by an average of 6 ounce serving comes out to 21.33 scoops of product. How many scoops are in an 8.8 oz. container? Don't care because I'm going back to store bought lactose free milk and lactose tablets.Your stomach and digestive system will thank you

"Add one scoop to your favorite beverage"???? Are you kidding me??? Look how big the scoop is! you might as well take 6 pills instead!

Works well
Lactase is an enzyme. As such, it's speed or actity rate is directly related to temperature.I let a gallon of milk warm almost to room temperature, add a plastic scoop of powder, shake well, then let it sit in the fridge for a couple days. Yes, you have to plan ahead, as it is not instant.I add it to cream soups, and warm slowly. This also works. This lactase powder works well, and makes a number of recipes edible again.

Works great for home cooking
I use this powder for homemade whipped cream and other cooking that involves a lot of heavy cream. It adds in just fine along with the dry ingredients (like powdered sugar) without clumping or destabilizing things. There aren't any guidelines for how much to use, so it's mostly trial and error. I use a 5cc scoop instead of the one that was included inside the container.

Great for my lactose intolerant wife.
My wife has not said anything about flavor...I think that it is tasteless. Since using it on her cereal, she has had no ill effects from the milk.
