NO START CONDITION, use an ignition spark tester to confirm you have ignition spark to the spark plugs. MISFIRE: Does your vehicle have a misfire cold or hot confirm you have spark from the ignition system? SPARK IGNITION TESTER: in my opinion is one of the best tools you can have in the tool box at an inexpensiveprice. AUTOMOTIVE SPARK TESTER: do not use the old trick by holding the spark plug wire a quarter inch from the ground and looking for a blue spark. Some of these new ignition systems will produce a spark and still be defective, having you chasing a problem and wasting money, trust me I been there. Do yourself a favor and purchase an automotive spark tester. IGNITION TESTER: an ignition spark tester will test an ignition coil for proper operation and performance, with an ignition spark tester you can confirm if a coil is breaking down under a load. For less than $20.00 you can confirm if the ignition system is operating correctly. EXCELLENT TOOL!! You can adjust how big you want your spark to be, which easily helps you determine if your coil packs or distributors are getting enough voltage to your spark plugs. You unplug your coil or spark plug wire and connect it to the end of the tester that looks like the top of a spark plug. The piece that has an alligator clip just clips onto any part of the car that is metal in order to create a ground. Once it's hooked up, start your car. If you're able to get an arc going across the gap of the tester, (adjusted to 25kv - 30kv) then you know your coils are providing enough voltage to the spark plugs. If you are not receiving enough spark this could indicate a weak coil, coil wire or an electrical problem. Every technician/ mechanic should have at least two in their box, why two, to stress a DIS system for spark at two plugs at the same time.

Works as expected even though the adjustable center electrode is loose in the threaded housing. A quick fix and a way to lock the adjustment in place is to just put a nut onto the threaded rod. Now it works like a champ and the gap now stays set because you can lock it down.

No fine tuning
The thread pitch tolerance is sloppy. Therefor, when you get the gap adjusted to within reason vibration easily changes it. If you have a high voltage ignition, it probably wouldn't be much of an issue but not so with a low compression car. I had to purchase one from O'Reily Auto Parts for half the price and twice the quality. note: do not use this style if you need to fine-tune your ignition...you'd likely already know that though.

Arrived in an open/stapled shut package. The outer package was fine. There was a dirty thumb print in the stapled closed package. The threads are incredibly sloppy. I paid for a new piece and got a poorly manufactured used one. Gave it one star because it arrived on time.
