The Real Mother Goose Coloring Book (Dover Classic Stories Coloring Book) Paperback – July 22, 2009

I was very excited when I stumbled across this coloring book. I am a homeschooling mother of 6, and my 3rd-grader has "The Real Mother Goose" as one of his reading books this year. And guess what? The illustrations in this coloring book are black and white line drawings of the beautiful full-color illustrations in the book. So, I bought two of these coloring books: one for the 3rd-grader, and one for his older sister (13), and when he has a reading lesson that goes with one of the illustrations in this coloring book, then together they get out their colored pencils and with careful coloring, shading, and blending, are able to produce beautiful, artistic reproductions of the book's illustrations. This coloring book only has 32 illustrations (the book itself has many, many more), but we are not remotely disappointed. This was a delightful addition to our homeschool curriculum this year--made it all the more fun! The book is well-made on high-quality paper.

The illustrations with accompanying poems are just lovely. I think I had a vintage reading book version of this as a child and flipping through it brought back fond memories.The only possible issue is that you can see the lines of the drawing on the back through the illustration you are coloring so I wouldn’t recommend using markers.

Very nice and cute book. Fun for children. But, I must admit, it is sooo much fun, to relax with an easier to color (big print) book, even as an adult! It brings out, all my childhood story memory! I love this book, and I'm 35 years old! Great book to end a stressful day with! Very cool and fun!

This is a delightful, fun coloring book for adults...or children. It has a picture that accompanies each nursery rhyme. Highly recommend it to those that have a love for coloring.

Surprised this is by Dover publishers. Their coloring books are usually pretty good quality. It looks like they just traced the original illustrations and traced them really poorly. Returning.

Just Fantastic, Pictures are well drawn and fun to color. The attached nursery rhymes are pleasant to read and give the book a lasting value.

Purchased this a couple months ago. Haven't colored in it yet but, I think the illustrations are nice. So I know. I'm going to enjoy it.

Illustrated as if it were Blanche Fisher Wrights own hand, this book has an old English style that I nice to read and then can be colored in as well.
