Dotz Home Entertainment Cord Identifier Kit for Cord and Cable Management (DCI131HEK-C)

On a whim, I purchased this Dotz Home Entertainment Cord Identifier Kit for Cord and Cable Management. Actually, I purchase TWO as I have so many cords and cables that need identifying in my home office and in back of the entertainment center in my living room.I liked the idea of the snap on identifiers that could be customized and easily taken on and off of the cables. I was not disappointed when I received this item. This is a great addition to this cord cutter's setup (author of the book:  Simple Guide to Over-the-Air Free TV ), and one I will recommend to others.PROS:+ Highly customizable!+ Two sizes of snap-on identifiers allow for identification of most cords and cables.+ Color and number ID in addition to personal labels.+ Easy, clear instructions both on box and written on an insert.+ Cord identifiers lock in place, but are also easy to open and adjust if needed.+ Large number of ID options per pack.CONS:- I found I used more of the larger size cable IDs than the smaller ones, but obviously that varies based upon your needs.- Some cables were in between sizes so the IDs slid up and down the cable instead of staying in place.This kit allows for a lot of customization and is easy to use. It satisfied my need for cable identification on the back of my AV receiver, both on the unit itself (with small, sticky color coded numbers that correspond to the ID labels) and on the attached cables.I will be using the second kit in my home office and expect to buy more to give as gifts.An excellent product that works well for me. I look forward to more from Dotz!

I bought these a while back but never got around to using them on my theatre setup for lack of time. I went through recently and finally labeled everything, and this is soooo much better!The kit has 2 sizes of Dotz: small (for ethernet, audio, etc) and large (for HDMI, coax, etc). There are 3 sets of in-Dotz labels and 3 sets of stickers. We used the stickers to put on the legend, on the receiver and on the power cables. You have numbers 1-12 to use, so keep that in mind if you have a lot of devices.I would have liked more numbers, but what we ended up doing is using one set for the receiver, and the other set for the router. We tried to keep the numbers consistent with regards to the power and input, but it got a bit messy ;)Only complaint: the in-Dotz labels are difficult or impossible to write on in standard pen. Use a fine-tipped CD pen for best results, since those write on everything!

It arrived 24 hours after i ordered it. It is so easy to use however you will need to add tape to make the small numbers stick. I plan to buy another one.so that every component is marked.

These are great! Changed that tangled mess behind my computer to something I could understand :) It really helps to know what to unplug when replacing peripherals, i.e., printer, monitor, speakers, etc. Especially helpful when you need to troubleshoot something. The way my desk is set up it took 2 people to identify the cords, one to pull from the front and someone behind it to see which cord moved! Money was very well spent for these. Also very good for hard to get to outlets like behind a dresser, to identify which is the lamp cord and which is the alarm clock.

These Dotz are great. Easy to use, easy to change, easy to remove. Easy, easy, easy. I highly recommend them.I used them to label the cords on my desktop computer set-up. As it turned out, one box was not enough. You might want to count the cords on your set-up (I didn't...oops). Also, because my set-up is within a computer cabinet, on some cords I used 3 Dotz -- one at the plug, one inside the cabinet, and one just outside the back of the cabinet. Now, everything is labeled in a way that is neat and easily visible.

I purchased these for all my cords as I was tired of finding a lost/hidden cord in a drawer and not knowing what it went to. Should I keep it?...Throw it away?...Do I still have the object the cord went to? This took the mystery out of it for sure. These were easy to use. Just write on, snap it to the cord and wa la...done! Just the right size too, as it could fit onto almost any size cord or wire without being too obtrusive. About the circumference of a dime and as deep as 1/2 inch or so.

If you have a bunch of electronics hooked up together. U will not be disappointed, I can unhook all my devices if I had to and tangle up all the cords and be up and running in 5 mins

These are nice, but they are a bit bulky for my cords. They would be fine if I kept my cords plugged in all the time in one place. I was looking for something that would label my cords so I would know which ones were mine at school and if I left one in a building. I could get it back. I would like something that was smaller and less bulky.

The idea in principle is fantastic.I have used this set to id my computer wires.I began using it at the beginning of July. The small number dots have already been falling off.I have already re-attached the red & lime green coloured dots several times & I only have 1 red sticker left. (All used in 1 month - maybe its old stock & the stickers have lost their stickiness).I could have also done with more of each colored circular cards supplied to go in the middle of the plastic cases. 3 is a very small amount & IMHO 5/6 would have been a better quantity. I've used 5 of some of the colours & have labeled them A, B, C...The plastic id cases are the best thing in this pack but I believe that some wires would struggle to fit into the small gaps - luckily my USB wires seem to fit OK.Overall I'm disappointed with the product.

Habituellement j'utilise des clips d'une autre marque, qui avaient pour moi un défaut majeur, l'étiquette était collée sur le clip, ce qui fait qu'avec le temps, elle finissait par s'effacer. ici les étiquettes se placent à l’intérieur du clip plastique ce qui protège l'inscription, j'ai enlevé une étoile car il il a peu de clips dans le kit et qu'ils sont de deux tailles différentes : 12 pour les petits câbles, 12 pour les gros (types rallonge ou gros câbles de courant). Moi qui est beaucoup de petits câbles à étiqueter j'aurais préféré qu'on puisse choisir de n'avoir que des petits ou des gros voir un mix des 2 (comme ici) là je vais rester avec pas mal de clips dons la taille n'est pas la bonne pour moi, dommage.

Esta muy bien pensado, pero resulta enorme en los cables de ordenador, aun asi, cumple su funcion.

Mi è piaciuta la versatilità.Un po' costosi.

Ce set est vraiment top !Qu'il s'agisse de câble HDMI, ethernet, audio ou rallonge électrique le système de clips qui se fixe dessus est juste génial.Bien pratique pour identifier qui est connecté à quoi dans le méli-mélo des câbles.
