This wool beaded amulet pouch features the Norse Rune, Fehu. To the Norther Europeans, Fehu meant cattle and at that period in time the number of cattle a group had was a measure of their wealth. As time passed and gold and other materials replaced cattle as a measure of wealth the rune Fehu remained a symbol of earned wealth, something to be worked for not inherited. Fehu is a rune of material gain. When presented upright, it indicates material gain. This amulet pouch features the rune in needle felted purple against a background of 100% white wool felt. I've stitched a border of iridescent glass beads, that change from blue to purple to green, along the outside. A 2 inch beaded fringe comprised of seed beads and purple stones, hangs from the bottom of the pouch. A hand felted "button" with spiral beading and beaded loop provide the closure for this amulet bag. The amulet pouch is 3.5 inches square and has a 28 inch beaded necklace. An amulet bag should be worn near your heart and filled with your favorite talisman, whatever you use to bring you good luck... a gem or stone, coins, drawings, dried plants or herbs, even words or prayers. If you know someone who is going through a tough time include a prayer for them in your amulet bag. You will be reminded to include them in your good wishes each time you touch the bag. The bag can be worn inside your clothing and so be closer to your heart.
