Ozeri Piezoelectric Stove Lighter, Flameless, Red

Works great and is super easy to use! Love how easy is is to hold! The mechanism to turn it on is very straight forward and easy to use for elderly, wet hands, ect. My favorite part is that it doesn’t require a recharge or fuel! Fantastic purchase!

I was excited to see this igniter was made in Italy and should have lasted longer, like the old igniter my dad bought when we were in Italy way back in 1978. NOT A CHANCE!! The first omen was when I received the Amazon package and the blister pack was loose from the cardboard backing and the igniter was loose in the paper pouch, but it was intact. Less than a week passed and the igniter lever stuck closed jammed, but came back out. Did this a couple times before the internals just fell out. I pieced it back together, but it repeatedly broke and finally broke apart for good. I would fully expect this from a dollar special temu item, not this.

I had been looking for a piezo camp stove and pilot lighter ever since my old UK made model died and was discontinued. Very nice unit! Just takes a little care to get used to putting the spark over the stove burner hole. Comfortable grip.

This is a great device for lighting a gas burner, and it won't melt from ~just~ lighting a burner, but if you carelessly put it down on the stovetop when you're done with it, and it's a little too close to the flame... it can melt. Sigh.

UPDATE: the replacement finally came 7 WEEKS later. This one works like a charm. So to sum up: when it works, it’s a really great gadget. If you get a bad one, I suggest returning it through Amazon and ordering another instead of going through Ozeri. I first got one of these pietzoelectric stove lighters from Ozeri 3 years ago and LOVED it. I used it multiple times a day everyday for 3 years and it worked great! Then it started sticking and I decided it was time to get a new one. I happily went back on Amazon and ordered another one. The first few days it was great. Then it started sticking and after 1 week it was completely unusable. I initiated a return but decided to email the company to see if there was a simple way to stop the sticking. I hate waste so I would have been happy to just fix it. They offered to send me a new one as it was under warranty. I sent proof of purchase and my address and they emailed that I should receive the replacement in 8-12 days. Two weeks passed (and the return window with Amazon closed) but nothing arrived. I emailed asking if it had been sent and could I get a tracking number. No reply. 4 more days passed, I emailed again. No reply. 5 more days and I emailed to say I was amending my glowing review. I gave them another couple of days. Crickets. So, buyer beware! I was a huge fan of this product and now it's going in the garbage and I'm out 18 bucks. So disappointing.

1st one worked great. It works great with just a slight squeeze. I think my wife broke the 1st one by squeezing too hard and / or dropping it repeatedly. Fortunately another was readily available at a fair price. Will see how the second works. Love the simple one-handed operation. No need for a difficult-to-use safety switch like on the gas-filled versions. A simple spark readily ignites a stove burner. One trick is rhe burner should be fairly low flow to ignite. High flow fails becausenit extinguishes the flame. So low flow burner and a slight squeeze of the ignighter and you will be happy.

I would give this zero stars if I could. This product is really CHEAP and DOES NOT WORK. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

It is a helpful device to switch on gas stove when it’s automatic electrical system fails to swith it on.

El producto cumple con lo que promete, a pesar de los comentarios donde dicen que la chispa no es lo suficientemente fuerte, yo no note problema alguno ya que funciona perfectamente bien con gas LP. Por el momento ha funcionado de maravilla.

Works really well, good clear spark. Not quite as sturdily made as the Tefal one we had (which lasted 20 years), but still good value for the money.

Took many sparks to ignite gas. Broke after 5 months.

It’s obvious what I’m using this product for. Please do not take up more of my time than what I have generously given for this review.
