Good build and components, average value, poor software
Yes, it is basically the cheapest full power 3070 laptop on the market. But the VRAM is made by micron so anything above +800Mhz OC will crash. The heat pipes and fans are capable but I'm guessing the applied thermal paste and pads are cheap ones as they can't really keep it cool. I'm seeing temps touch 85C on the GPU during heavy use.The vantage software is good although coming from an MSI laptop which allowed pretty comprehensive fan control, not having ANY control over the fan speed is baffling. Even in performance mode, lenovo prefers silence over cooling and temps get real high for my liking (I prefer <80 at at times, Lenovo seems fine with <95!).Speaking of software, I hate Windows 11. No other way to say it. From causing weird frequency scaling on the Ryzen CPU so that it idles at around 55C (although I guess that can also be because of the cheap paste) to just being bloated. Microsoft needs to understand the difference between elegant and dumbed down software design. Mac OS is elegant, Windows is frustrating. And speaking of macs, there is no reason for someone buying a high end laptop in 2021 to not go for m1 mbp 16, if not for the inflated indian pricing.Anyway, this is overall not a bad laptop at all. My mood and the rating might change after I have performed an extensive round of hardware and software tuning. Will update shortly.1 WEEK LATER:The AMD+Nvidia setup has some quirks. By turning on the iGPU (called hybrid mode; requires restart), you get better battery life but lose 4GB of system RAM and some productivity apps like Resolve Studio just refuse to open. Compare that to Intel+Nvidia setup of my old laptop where Resolve works flawlessly after marking it for "High Performance Graphics" use in settings.Regardless of raw gaming performance boost by using only dGPU, I prefere using both i+d GPUs for two reasons:1. Using the iGPU to drive the display frees up around 1GB on the dGPU and that comes in handy when editing 4K60p/6K videos2. What is the point of having an iGPU take up space on the CPU die (space that could have housed more cores) if we don't/can't leverage it to boost the dGPU?So as things stand currently, iGPU and hybrid mode is only useful for unplugged use.Speaking of which, I found a way to force performance mode while on battery and change the fan speed. The app is called "Legion Fan Control" and it allows you to fix the fan speed a specific percentage (only when hybrid mode is off unfortunately) as well as keep performance mode on while running from the battery! Doing so, allows you to give upto 55W to the dGPU where as the default behavior limits it only 30W! Battery runtime tanks but you get a solid one hour of editing with basically a 1660ti level of performance on battery. This along with control over fan speed is crucial to really getting the most out of this laptop.I'm adding 0.5 stars to my rating but whether it can reach 4/5 depends on how much more performance I get after I apply liquid metal and reinstall/revert back to Windows 10 in the next and final update.Final Update:After applying liquid metal and tweaking the TDP to go upto 65W, I'm getting basically 5900hx performance and temps stay under 80C (25C room). Used APU Tuning Utility software.Decided to not revert to Windows 10 as I got a firmware update from Lenovo through Windows Update that fixed my other issue with this laptop where Resolve wouldn't start with Hybrid graphics ON. Don't want to find out that rolling back to W10 disables these optimizations. Also, from the BIOS one can change the amount of system RAM the iGPU takes all the way down to 1GB.Also also, the display shows up as a 10-bit panel! That, if accurate, along with 16:10 aspect and factory calibration strengthens it's productivity use case.Final rating:4.20/5

A beast of a laptop
This laptop is a beast. I purchased it for 1.58L after the exchange.Screen:The screen is beautiful. HDR content with Dolby vision looks gorgeous. 16:10 aspect ratio with 2k WQXGA display increases productivity and gaming experience to the next level. The colors are very accurate and can be used for content creation as well. Bezzeles are very small. 165 FPS feels soooo smoooooth.Boot time:hardly 5 seconds. 1TB m.2 NVMe is like the heart of fast execution speeds.keyboard and touchpad:RGB is divided into 4 sections or you can make it completely white. Keys are tactile and the typing experience is excellent. Unlike Dave2d I don't find touchpad interfering with my typing. (and I code a lot!). The touchpad is smooth. No gap when you press it.Gaming:You know it has a 145TDP 3070 RTX, do I really have to put here anything? 100+fps in almost all of the games I've played TR, SOTR, ROTR, witcher, cyberpunk, warzone, consistent 165 FPS on DOOM.Software:The software is good. unlike other reviews, I did not feel any bugs with the software. For some reason, wifi security turns down the speed when many applications are using the internet. No Idea why, but if you are on the home network then no need to turn it on. wifi 6 gives ultimate speed. windows 11 is beautiful.AudioNahimic audio is premium. You can select modes and it would change the entire experience. Headphones are recommended however down-firing speakers are loud as well.Camera:I didn't expect the camera to be great. It's an average 720p cam. If you really want good quality then just use droidcam over USB on your phone.300W power brick is big. And the laptop itself is around 1.5+kg I guess. I don't move my laptop much so it is not an issue and no laptop is recommended to be used on your lap. Always keep space for your laptop's ventilation.Overall, at this price range, a 10/10 laptop. No compromises made !!!!! I even got a FREE legion Gaming mouse with it :) ...

An awesome laptop but with some minor problems
Loved almost everything about this laptop.I bought this laptop for gaming and it delivers.Performance is great ( I am able to play Valhalla at 2560*1600 ultra high settings at 65 fps, Cyberpunk at same resolution on Psycho settings with RTX enabled and DLSS at performance at 55-60 fps. This is at discrete graphics mode, without any overclocking ).The display is great ( 500 nits of brightness, 10-bit HDR display, Dolby Vision Support, 100% coverage of sRGB and 95% of DCI-P3 although g14/15 gives better aRGB coverage ).The keyboard is very good ( my unit didn't have the keyboard backlight issue )I/O is good for me ( 4 type A and 2 type Cs is great for me )But there are some minor cons with this laptop. The speakers are not good ( nahimic helps only a little bit ).The camera quality is good but not great. It is HEAVY.Also the Wifi card in the Indian model is not that great. Also, some people might complain about the bad RAM which is true, but when gaming at 1600p, it doesn't matter much. All in all, this laptop for me was a dream come true but it's not for everyone.

One for the serious gamers
I bought the one with the RTX 3070. Being able to play AAA titles at ultra is a pleasure which is only valued by a rare few. The price is a major barrier but the results are worth it. If you are a serious gamer. This one is not for the casual gamer. The laptop looks unassuming and won't raise eyebrows. However, it's what is inside that counts. And boy oh boy it counts. The storage space could have been better as 1 TB is barely enough if you go manic during steam sales or have a game pass. Everything else is just plain fantastic. Not sure about lenovo service but I didn't face any major hiccups so far. Delivery was lightening fast and smooth. Thank you Amazon. So far so good.
