Examkrackers 16 Mini Mcat's (EXAMKRACKERS MCAT MANUALS)

Good purchase despite the typos
This book is a great supplement to the ExamKracker 1001 books and for MCAT content review, but there are a lot of typos. The answers are correct in the back of the book, but some questions have such bad wording/typos you cannot even answer them. (As a note for personal use: the key to each test is NOT correct, but when you look at the descriptions to each question/answer, the correct choice is highlighted).Do NOT use this as your only source of practice problems! There aren't enough questions to re-iterate all of the information you need for the MCAT.The built-in schedule and the passage based approach to the questions are very helpful. I used this book, EK1001s, and Berkeley Review and scored a 37. I broke up the tests in the following way (I did this after I completed my initial content review):I took 1,3,5,7,9,11,13, and 15 on consecutive days (with a break every Sunday). After a week break I took 2,4,6,8,10,12,14 and 16 on consecutive days. I reviewed all of the information I was lacking while going through the passage the next day, and reviewed EVERY problem, right or wrong.Overall, it's worth the money.

Expect typos.
I feel that there are a lot of prodcuts out there that are both beneficial than this book. It is good for early morning practice to stimulate your brain, but I would not use it as a primary means of studying.First of all, the book is full of typos. For some, this might not be a problem, but I found it highly distracting.Secondly, the explanations for correct answers was poor. I found myself referring back to other books to figure out the answers.Third, these are only one hour mini-tests, so that introduces two new issues. You cannot really use these tests as an assessment, because they are so short. On the same day, I could score 6/16 on the biology section. Later, the same day, I could score 14/16. Also, being short, they do not help with preparing endurance for the actual exam. While I did not find this book very helpful, I would recommend the 1001 question series. I used the o-chem and physics books, and found those questions much engaging.

Many errors
I purchased this book to supplement the other Examkrackers materials that I am using, and am very disappointed. The verbal section of Exam 1 is riddled with ridiculous typos ("Itit" is not a word) and question 30 reads like a word salad :"...clarify his argument withAn appropriate clarification of the passage would be the stipulation that:his the author's argument applies only to both:A. the present and future..."Yes, it is written just like this, and no, context does not help. This is exam 1. What do the others look like? If they didn't bother to do the easy editing, how can any part of it be taken seriously?Don't waste your time or money with this book.

Lots of practice problems but quite a few spell errors
This book has lots of practice problems for sure, which prepares you for the real test and gives you a good sense of how fast the time goes by. However, there are a quite a few spell errors which can confuse you during your practice tests, and also the problems are arranged in the order of chapters, which isn't too realistic. The real MCAT doesn't give you problems in the order of chapters! The book doesn't reflect the real MCAT too closely, but it does contain lots of problems.

Great idea for study, but poor editing
Examkrackers offers some excellent products and the idea of 16 mini-MCATs is a great idea. However, the editing of the book that I ordered was poor. On the first mini exam there were many instances of duplicated words or phrases which are very distracting when trying to take the exam. For example on question # 25: in the question stem the error "organizations thatthan is unwarranted " occurs, and in the answer choices there are duplications of the first word in every choice such as: "D. Reliancereliance upon a purebred status from the AKC has resulted in inbreeding." Hopefully they will correct these mistakes will be corrected in the next edition; then they will have a 5 star product.

Riddled with inaccuracies
Sample question:"Transcription factors are proteins that bind DNA in order to regulate gene expression. All of the following molecules are examples of transcription factors EXCEPT:A. repressor proteinB. CAPC. cortisolD. IPTG"The answer given in the back is IPTG. This may all be well and good, except that the question stem UNEQUIVOCALLY states that a transcription factor is a protein, which cortisol is not. It is a steroid hormone, and therefore is not a transcription factor according to the standard definition. There are many other issues like this. The science sections contain similar scientific inaccuracies and answer choices so ambiguous that they literally possess no meaning. Verbal reasoning passages fail to reflect the most basic principles of logic (The inverse of "A and B are true" is not "if not B, then not A," but thanks for trying). If you want to work on study problems written by people who have never taken a basic course in the material being tested, please buy this book.

Book FULL of errors, WRONG copy
I purchased this book several months ago and began taking practice exams only to find it riddled with errors. The verbal sections have excessive typos that hinder the ability to read. There are repeated words, choices with out letters, and questions that stop mid-section. A classmate of mine has another copy of this book that is the SAME edition but does not have any of these mistakes. The book was obviously corrected, and I was under the impression when buying this copy that I was purchasing the most recent version. VERY dissatisfied with this purchase as I now have to go buy the correct copy.

Meh.
There are a large number of errors in this book, from inaccurate explanations, to inaccurate answer keys. It is good timed practice and warm up, but be wary that it may be incorrect.

Exam Krakers 16 mini
This book is helpful when you are going over the units chronologically, the tests are more difficult because they're more detailed but it's good practise for sure! There alot of spelling mistakes though and the numbering is a little messed up but otherwise it's good practise. Always better to get your hands on as many practise questions as you can.
