Pros: Quality material. Fine motor skills.Cons: Limited because of size/pieces.We got this for our 5 year old and he was able to create some neat shapes. The number of pieces and the board limit you on what shapes you can do. We noticed that he pretty much was not very interested anymore because he wasn't able to create any new shapes. What's good about this lacing board though it helps a few things. One being your imagination and the other is your fine motor skills. After several days of playing here and there he was pretty confident with the lacing. The material felt like it was high quality and very similar to some of the others we have gotten from Amazon Basic. Since it's a 4-pack we gifted some away for their kids. The lacing cords are colored which helps the kid understand the uniquenss of it and how it blends into the shapes that also have different colors or rather different shades of green. I admit, I'm not sure why this comes in a 4 pack. This is sturdy and all the pieces feel durable. The string is just colorful shoe laces, which is cool although it would be nice if the plastic end caps were longer. As is they dont span beyond 2 pieces put down, so you have to juggle holding them and pushing the less stable shoelace through. Not the end of the world, although my toddler did find it difficult. Besides that, the 4 sets are identical and would be good to keep either for extra parts or to give to friends.

My 4yo twins figured out what to do with these boards right away, with very little instruction. They need some help with fine motor skills and these have been great for them to "sew" the small pieces to the larger board.This is a 4 pack, so there are 4 boards + laces + small shape sets, each packaged in a paper bag.

Exceptionally nice Montessori-type wooden toys…. These come with a wood base with lots of drilled holes, several colorful laces and thin woodern geometric shapes with holes in them as well for lacing to the board. Four identical sets come in each order.
