Meba 24" 600mm Magnetic Digital Readout DRO Remote Reading for Mill/Lathe (24 inch)

I just installed this on my bench milling machine and it works great. No more having to deal with the backlash of the lead screw or counting the turns of the crank when positioning the milling table. I've only been using this for a couple of weeks so longevity is uninown.Here's a tip: internet research indicated chips and crud from the machining process often reduces the life of these inexpensive units. I fabricated a protective shield using 1 1/2" aluminum angle attached to the milling table with the horizontal leg on top (looking from the end). The DRO slide is mounted under the horizontal leg. Then I used plastic shelf liner mounted on the horizontal leg to cover exposed front of the DRO slide, so the unit should remain free from chips and crud.

I bought two of these units last May, they worked fine until one unit decided to start flashing. Replaced the battery thinking that was the problem, now it quit working all together. I'll replace it but not with this product.
