This product has a natural color, this is from the actual lavender, no artificial coloration is added to this mask. Lavender is suitable for all skin types, but it is especially valuable for dry, sensitive or aging skins. It has a tonic and astringent effect on the capillaries just below the skin surface, which makes it useful in diminishing the redness caused by enlarged capillaries. Cosmetic products with at least a ten percent concentration of glycolic acid are used as exfoliates and moisturizers. Because of its high dosage of acid, glycolic acid is able to extract dead skin from the face through exfoliating which leaves skin looking younger and feeling smoother. This type of acid is also used as an acne treatment, when mixed with other chemicals. It helps to remove the top layer of skin and reveals newer skin below the layer of skin most prone to acne. This newer skin is also less oily, and thus less likely to form acne. Test the glycolic acid peel on a small area of skin before you apply it to your face to gauge whether or not your skin is sensitive to the ingredients. Follow instructions very carefully and pay attention to how long the formula must sit on your skin. Use a mild cleanser to clean your neck, hands and face and rinse with warm water. Use a toner to remove excess cleanser but leave the toner on your skin. Apply the peel to the now clean area for the recommended time then rinse off thoroughly and dry the skin. Be aware of how close the peel is to your eyes and listen to your skin. Stinging and redness is normal. If your skin is already sensitive, experts do not advise you using this peel. The peel should not be used on skin with open wounds or skin that has been shaved 24 hours prior. Direct sun exposure will irritate the skin after the peel has been applied. Whenever you try a new chemical, it is important to be cautious. Test other areas of the skin first and make the decision based on what's best for your skin.
