The Little Book of Prayers

I bought this book thinking it would be a good, Christian prayer book to keep on hand, but unfortunately discovered after the book was delivered that it’s a book which uses the word prayer loosely, and the author is yet another post-modern person who lumps all faiths together.It does look like there’s a decent number of actual Christian prayers in this book, but... I can’t recommend this book if you’re a Christian, and if you’re not a Christian... Brace yourself, for God’s wrath is coming.If you *do* decide to purchase this book, be careful with the prayers you read in this book, as there’s only 1 true God, and if you aren’t praying to Him... You’re praying to Satan.

This book contains a range of prayers and thoughts from the mysticalto the mundane. The book contains a useful index which is helpful in findingprayers based upon the writer's intent, i.e.. morning prayers, prayers for sickness, prayers for praise, etc.This volume replaced my original Little Book of Prayers. It's new size -- the old one is square -- makes it easier to hold and read. Typeface is nowconsistent throughout. The binding is weaker than on my original so it doesn't take to opening fully. Had a pagedislodge from the glue when I opened the book to a near flat position. .

I have owned this book three times now. The first time, it was a gift. I love the collection of prayers, and meditations. I then gave it to someone who I thought really needed it. So then I bought another copy of it. And then I ended up giving that book away to someone who needed it. I have bought it again. Love this little book.

In times of trouble (mental or physical) we need words that our minds cannot conjure to help us pray. This is a great little book that has words from all faiths that reminded me of the strain other have endured thru life.

I bought so many copies of this book. It is a great gift. Reading a prayer or two like these prayers always puts me in a peaceful place before I go to sleep. It is a wonderful assemblage of prayers and inspirational and meditative writings.

This is a great little book. I’ve purchased several for gifts. It’s thought provoking and inspirational.

This is a very lovely book, full of prayers from all kinds of sources spiritual classics and contemporary whiticisms. There is something for everyone on this book and I know this is going to be a constant companion from now on. Highly recommended for those for whom prayer is more than mantra.
