The missing link.
I started forging knives recently, and have been playing around with lesser belts, and getting frustrated for it. Maybe they'd cut, but they'd build up so much heat doing so that you'd have to constantly dunk in water to keep cool. Especially troublesome if you've already Hardened and Tempered your stuff. Then I read somewhere that Ceramic belts was the way to go. So i bought the 6 pack of 36 grit, and got to trying them out today. They cut faster, and harder, and COOLER then all the other belts. I whipped through the blackened forged surfaces of my knives, to get down to bare steel very quick. Then I tried my hardened and tempered knives. (If you get them too hot, you've ruined the hardness, and have to harden then temper all over again.) Not once did it over heat. And after 5 knives, one belt was still going strong.I'll be buying other grits, soon!

very happy with seller
I use many 2x42 belts, and these 40 grits that i got this time didn't hold up nearly as well as previous ones. Normally i get about 1 week out of each belt and with these one I got 10 minutes in and most of the abrasive was gone. Seller shipped me out a replacement and they are working great now and holding up fine. don't know what happened, but who cares. problem seems to be solved. thanks red label. I'll be buying more soon!

Long-lasting super-shredder
Make sure you get the correct size! I mistakenly order 2x42 when i needed 2x72 (72in "circumference")Once I got the correct size, I was impressed with how much metal this can remove quickly. Compared to a normal 40-grit belt (this is 36, but my experience with AO is mostly 40+), I already got 3x more out of it. Looks like it will last for at least 6 knives total (possibly 10).Expensive, but worth it. Especially if you value saved time at more than $5/hr.

I was really surprised at how fast and cool they grind tool steel
I bought the 36 grit and 80 grit belts to grind HSS and cobalt lathe tool bits. I had been using 24 grit Aluminum Oxide belts to shape HSS bits for years but thought I would try these Red Label belts for a change. I was really surprised at how fast and cool they grind tool steel. Actually, I ground 9 mild steel tools from keystock, then an M2 HSS tool bit and then two 5% cobalt tools on the same belt and the belt cut the same at the end as it did at the beginning. It cut cobalt steel almost as fast as it cut mild steel, no kidding, and there was no color change in the steel at any point so it cuts really cool.Bottom line: they cut much faster than AO belts, much cooler and stay sharp far longer than an AO belt.I am now officially a fan of Red Label and their ceramic belts. If you grind lathe tools on a belt sander, buy these belts!

Junk
Not worth the price. They charge twice as much as much better brands, but they last half as long as much cheaper brands.

Bi directional glue joint. You can put it on either way!
American made and it shows. Quality product and the price is better than stuff from across the big pond.

Higher value than other belts.
These definitely move more metal than the non ceramic belts. Seem to last quite a bit longer. You don’t get pelted with sanding matter coming off the belt. These will be my go to belts for now on.

Good belts, well made, shipped to your door.
I'm not even most of the way through my first belt, but the performance so fat is pretty good. Quality seems excellent, and frankly it's not easy finding a lot of 2x42 belts to choose from. Having a reasonably priced, high quality ceramic belt just an amazon order away makes me pretty happy. I'd buy these again.
