Garage Door Remote Opener for Sears Craftsman Liftmaster (139.53681) 971LM

Setting up was under one minute. I have been in this remote for one month, and it has no problems.

My garage door is an older model but I was directed to this seller and got 2 so I’d have a backup. The price was more than reasonable and same good quality as the original one!💯👍

I eventually got this to work but only 1 of the small buttons.Here's a tip I learned while troubleshooting. LED bulbs can interfere with your garage door opener. That could have been part of my issue. It would work for a minute then quit. Once I changed to an incandescent bulb, it has worked perfectly now for a couple of months. They also sell special LED bulbs for openers.

All I can say is that it did not cost much...going by the color of the control button on the main opener is not effective...the colors change over time...my Craftsman unit manufactured 2/2008 looks to have a light orange/brownish color, except under strong flashlight inner part of button looks sort of blue/red??? why not go by date of manufacture? About ready to give up and replace the whole thing??? Dave Murray SW FL

The remote was a great value and ridiculously easy to program. I was reluctant to purchase at first because I saw some reviews about it and how it didn't work.You have to check your model to make sure this opener is compatible. On the motor unit itself, is a model number. Type that into a search engine, and it will return results to tell you what type of Sears garage door opener you have, what years it was manufactured, and what remotes are compatible with it.If you do that, I promise you'll have no issue. This remote worked perfectly within 5 seconds of me programming it. The key is making sure you have the right remote for your head unit.

Easy to install on a craftsman red button opener. Hit the button on the motor / opener , hold the desired button on the remote . Poof..should have done this years ago. Old remote circa 2005 was getting too short on range like at the end the of the driveway or shorter to work despite brand new energizer batteries. This one walked a good ways down the street far from where I normally trigger it and it opens/ closes instantly. Wonderful .

I followed the instructions of the seller to determine the year model. Mine was 2004 with a red learning button. So the correct remote was 1997-2005. My husband grab the ladder and pressed the red learning button for a few seconds and I kept pressing the remote button for a few seconds at the same time.There are three buttons on the remote, I only used one, biggest one. And we were done! No problems.

I went through 3 Generic remotes and none would connect. I had a generic one for almost 5 years that worked perfectly. Purchased exact same one thinking it was easy and worked well. Nope it wouldn't connect. Tried another generic one and nothing , no connect. Finally said I will buy the original Lift master one I had that came with the Garage door opening originally. Took less than 7 mins to connect and work. Awesome... One happy Customer.
