With these hooks I was able to hang six bicycles from my garage rafters. After a bit of research I concluded that I did not want the skinny hooks that seem to be more common and would be tight around a bicycle wheel (more difficult to hook a bike onto them and more likely to bend and fail under weight). So, instead I purchased these thick, sturdy hooks and they worked like a charm. They have a good wide arc, making it easy to hook bicycle wheels into them from below. In order to not split the rafters with fat hook screws, or to weaken them by drilling wide holes for the screws, I cut six short blocks of wood, each with one end at an angle to match the rafter angle, then drilled and screwed the hooks into the other end (so that the hooks hang vertically down -- i.e. not at an angle, which would place lateral pressure on them). I then used metal plates with lots of nail holes in them to anchor two sides of each of the blocks to the sides of the rafters. For the nail holes I drilled skinny holes and tapped in roofing nails. If I ever move house, I can pull out the side roofing nails from the rafters and retrieve my hook blocks with side plates attached, and then use them at the new location.

I needed some bike hooks to hang our bikes in the garage. They were taking up too much space on the floor and I decided to purchase these hooks after seeing them on a DIY youtube video for a bike hanging solution. Man, am I glad I purchased these! These hooks are extremely sturdy, solid, thick, and simple to install. You can use a wall or ceiling mounted 2x4 piece to screw these hooks into, or you can screw them directly into a wall stud or ceiling joist. I ended up going the ceiling joist route and drilled a couple pilot holes using a 3/8" drill bit directly into the joists. I then screwed these hooks in all the way until I couldn't see the threads anymore and the hook was oriented in the direction I wanted. I hung the bikes up on them and they are extremely sturdy. I was nervous at first since I've never hung bikes from hooks in the ceiling before, but after having had them up for a few weeks now, they haven't budged one millimeter and show no signs of letting those bikes fall. I highly recommend you pick up these bike hooks for your garage and get some of your storage space back!!

i was needing a way to store bikes in my garage and these hooks were perfect. I took them and screwed them into a board on my wall. They went in quite easily and have help up really well ! They are made quite well and seem very sturdy . the price is awesome! we have 6 bikes hanging up and haven't had any issues with weight and the hooks falling out. The bikes range from a strider bike which is for a toddler all the way up to a 29er mtb . i highly recommend them to everyone! No Cons for this product Im finally free to store my kids bike on the wall without having to worrie about my car getting damaged from the bikes falling for getting left out!

works as expected, has good protective coating to protect painted rims or spokes. One downside, the screw portion was not long enough to be screwed deep enough into the wood stud in my ceiling past the Dry wall. It worked but, not without twisting some of the plastic blue coating which made it a tight fit for hanging my mountain bike tires.

These books are awesome. My husband has a lot of bikes and bike wheels. We mounted these hooks to a 2*4 by drilling holes in the wood and screwing the hooks into it, then mounting the wood to the garage ceiling studs. The garage is so much more organized now and my husband’s bikes and bike wheels are safely hanging and will not get broken or scratched leaning against each other. These are big and sturdy enough to hang a mountain bike. We were thrilled with the quality of this product.

Great hooks. Screwed them through the drywall into the rough studs of my storage room to hang up bicycles. There really is no better solution for bikes as it gets them on the ceiling and off the floor or walls. You can also space them to fit your bike perfectly. While I am sure dedicated bike storage systems work great, I can't imagine them working better than simple solid coated hooks like these. Therefore, unless you are trying to make an aesthetic statement with an engineered and finely finished product, save yourself $100 or more and buy these extremely inexpensive hooks. And of course they also work for anything else you want to hang off the wall or the ceiling.

These hooks are what you want if you have a mountain bike or other wide tire. Other hooks that are marketed for bikes are really only for narrow road bike tires. These hooks measure 9" long and 4" wide (outside dimensions including anchor). The other "bike" hooks I have are 6" long and 2.5" wide. They could technically fit a mountain bike tire but it's tight and you have to squeeze it in there. Just get these and it will be so much easier to pop your bike on and off. I bought the 6-pack so I also used the extras to hang up a kids wagon and stroller. They rubber coating is thick and sturdy and doesn't look like it will peel off like the vinyl coating of my other hooks. Use a 3/8" pilot hole for stud mounting. These also came with drywall anchors but I didn't need to use any so can't comment if 3/8" is sufficient for those.

Simple, sturdy, easy to install - it gets its job done. The rubber/silicone-like coating around the used part of the hook prevents any scuffs to whatever you may be hanging on this. I used it to hang my bicycle. These things are very hefty and strong. To install it I had to pre-drill into the joist and I simply screwed the hook into it. Super easy. I would highly recommend this affordable product.

Good quality, better than the ones I purchased from a Canadian store that sells tires which were $7 a piece. The rubber seems to be better adhered to these. My heaviest bike is in the low to mid 30 lbs range and there is zero flex. These should work with any bike (even fat bikes). My only concern with this style hook is the rubber coming off and Samsung your rims, but as I stated before these seem better built than similar ones I've purchased.

Super easy to install and supports tons of weight. I have a little giant ladder and a manual lawnmower on those hooks and no issues. Beats buying those cheap hooks at Home Depot .
