This thing works perfectly! My ex is stalking me and he suddenly knew way too much about my day to day life. I downloaded an app which told me when my mic, camera and location were turned on and off and wow! I an ther opposite of a tech nerd and am mor like the models on zoolander "the files are IN the computer" then I smash the screen. Embarrassing but true. Since I can't figure out how to get him out I figured I would do my best to block him. I was sceptical but im so happy. The only problem is with me. I forget it's in and I answer a call but I can't hear anything and they can't hear me and I couldn't figure out what was wrong until it suddenly hit me. Duh! Total palm in face moment! I feel a lot mor secure now. I lose it all the time because it's tiny but it comes back eventually.

This is a useful product, and if you have more than one phone in your household, it only makes sense to buy them in a five pack for the discount.The top piece does not stick as far out as I was expecting. The only issue I have is making sure not to lose it when I pull it out for phone calls and stuff.Based on my experience and other reviews, this product is only suitable for Android phones. It will not work with Apple products.

Bought a 5 pack. Laptop 1 (Acer): No change, device still uses internal mic, but the mic-bloc cuts out the speakers, so I can't block the mic without losing the ability to watch a movie or do youtube, etc. Laptop 2 (HP): Mic-block works, but by completely killing the recording function of the laptop. As soon as you plug it in, the laptop stops recording, firing off a recording error message.They look nice though. I'm not saying they won't work for everyone, quite possible with some windows tweaking, and maybe depending on drivers etc on your laptop possibly they could work fine.Update Feb 4th, 2019 - The owner of the company, Ric, reached out to work with me on the issues I was having, and has offered some awesome alternative suggestions that look like they will help. That is great personalized customer service, I've changed my rating to 5 stars based on this. The customer experience is important and they really came through for me. Thanks Ric!

This little device works. Static is heard on the other end when engaged. I can use the speaker phone while this is plugged in fine, and it still blocks apps from listening. Unfortunately, there are times when I need to remove it when I cannot communicate using the speaker phone on my Android cell phone because the caller on the other end would just hear static. When I do that, sometimes I lose it because it is so small. When I use it on my laptops, I never need to unplug. It does the job nicely. Also, I noticed in recent years that they have additional colors. It used to be Black or Grey. Now, there are many other colors.

I like it! Thank you! :) I used for iphones, samsung with headjack or audio aux, cheap cellphones 3.5mm, laptop, modern vehicles have audio aux/headjack i still have 4 i lost 1. My work office go crazy when they can't hear me through company device through my smartphone. :) they always ask me to see my smartphone i remove mic lock before handing it to office staff to see my settings then when they are done looking at my setting i plug it back. :) The company i work for and we work with has been harassing me without this device. The best item/product.

Worked great on Android 7, but when tried on an Android 8 phone it didn't block anything. In addition tried on several computers and some older models it worked but most new systems it wouldn't block anything. I'm not a electronic wiz by no means, but when the advertisement says it works on all smartphones, tablets, computers, I would think someone would have tested it first to ensure the advertisements were indeed true. The manufacturer or whomever made this bold statement should rework the wording to ensure customers are not sold something that has not been tested and approved for their specific electronic device.

Why does this also have to block the speaker so I can't watch youtube videos?

This really works. The little storage case was a huge plus. Just keep in mind that when this is plugged in, you also cannot hear streaming video or any other Media audio on your mobile device (e.g., YouTube, Audible, etc.) However, you can disengage the plug just enough to allow the Media to be heard and the Mic Lock will still rest in the phone. Or you can completely remove the Mic lock and place it in the storage case (that can be attached to your phone). In summary, the item works and is easy to use. Would recommend it to my friends and family if they were looking for the functionality it provides.
