Great pump and wonderful customer service.
This is the second time we ordered this pump. The first time was years ago and when we got the 1st one it had a broken lever. We called the company and they apologized and sent us out a replacement part extremely fast. This time the part had support brackets around it so that the lever wouldn't be damaged in shipping. This pump is very reliable and was worth the money to keep our basement dry.

Easy To Install, Solid Pump
In our basement there is a small hole for a sump pump which only runs when needed - about 2-3 months of the year. Our first 10 years or so in the house we used a pump installed by the prior owners and when that finally died we put in a pump from Basement Watchdog which didn't even make it through a single season. We replaced the pump annually for about 5 years either through new purchases or under warranty until I finally gave up on Basement Watchdog. We have a semi-finished section of the basement with a different hole which had a pedestal pump from Superior Pump that had been working for years with no issue so decided to get a second one to replace the problematic Basement Watchdog one. The first Superior Pump is using the included float but the newest one does not and instead uses a smaller sensor to turn off/on the pump. Installation is very easy - basically hook the pump up to your piping/hose and plug it in. Depending on your setup adapter(s) may be needed to go from the pump output, but that is easily found at most hardware stores. Switching from the Basement Watchdog pump to the Superior Pump took about 30 minutes with most of the time related to me getting the piping lined up and not anything to do with the pump itself. I did need to contact Superior Pump for an issue with one of the pumps and they were exceptionally helpful. The problem was likely a defect from the start as the pump was much louder than the other I had and over time it quit pumping with any force. A couple messages were promptly exchanged to confirm the issue and troubleshoot, then a replacement pump was sent at no cost. The only minor issue I would note is that the packaging is pretty weak as others documented in their reviews. I didn't have any obvious damage when any of the pumps were shipped to me, but I can see how the packaging could be prone to damage. There is Styrofoam around the base and top of the pump and all of my pumps came inside another box which would reduce the chance of damage. Despite the packaging, I still highly recommend the pump and just recommend checking the pedestal and switch to be sure everything is intact when you receive the shipment.

Great, quiet alternative to a submersible pump! **Quit 8 already**
Was excited about this pump but quit 8 months after purchase!!!! Pretty upset right now. Purchased a few months ago when our submersible pump quit. We drain our water softener into the crock (our only option right now) and the previous pumps have corroded resulting in water all over the basement. Was on a hunt for a alternative and found out about pedestal pumps. This one was easy to install and is very quiet. Runs during the middle of the night when the water softener cycles, and we never hear it. Our bedroom is directly above where it is installed in the basement. Time will tell on how long it will last in comparison to a submersible pump, but we are happy so far.

A solid little pump
The pump arrived promptly after the order was placed and installed easily. Only then did I discover that it failed to run when the float was lifted. A phone call to Superior Pump produced a very rapid and helpful respone. A new switch was mailed immediately. It installed easily and the pump has functioned flawlessly ever since. It represents very good value for money and I couldn't be more pleased.

PUMP BASE wasnt put together correct, had to take apart and fix works good
I bought this as a back up pump and now we need it, just hooked it up,plugged it in, just hums.. smells like wire or plastic burning. So i took it apart and saw the pump mechanism was jammed into the plastic housing. re-seated it, works perfect now.

It’s amazingly quiet
I like the quietness of the pump. It pushes out a ton of water in a short period of time. It has the adjustable float, so you can control when you want it to kick on and off. It seems to be built stronger than I was expecting. It arrived 3 days before it was supposed to. Packaging was perfect so product wasn’t damaged in the shipping.

6 Months In and Still Working Great!
Product was very easy to assemble/install, and even though it was made of plastic, it felt durable. It's been running (a lot) for 6 months and I haven't had to troubleshoot or unclog it at all. Would buy again!

Binding pump shaft.
The impeller on the bottom would bind up and the motor would overheat and trip out on overload. I examined the cause and found that even the slightest pressure on one side of the base would bind up the long shaft. I called the company and they suggested I return it. I have two others of the same type and they work fine. I bought a submersible pump from the same company and it works well.

This pump is good value. My installation in not continual use and will engage only in extra heavy rain. That is why I bought the least expensive unit i could find. I believe it will work very well in continuous duty. The pump worked very efficiently in my test of the unit. The pump is plastic so care in handling in installation is advised. The construction is not feeble and I do not know the impact resistance of the plastic. But if you dropped the unit and it landed just the wrong way my impression is it might break. For myself the pump is installed and secured and I do not expect to ever replace it.

I recently purchased a sump pump from a local retailer. It started making an awful grinding noise when it was running, but the return window had closed. The pump still worked, but was extremely loud. I bought this Superior pump from Amazon, along with the check valve from the same manufacturer. This pump was a piece of cake to install and is SO quiet, it is music to my ears. Hopefully this pump will last a long time. I'm satisfied😁👍

Subpump died even before warranty did. Contacted company let’s see what they’ll come up with.

Bought this to replace the exact same pump that came with the house, that packed it in a week ago. We’re not in an area that has a terriblly high water table so the pump doesn’t run that often or for that long. The last Superior Pump, which was the same model as this, lasted 10 years. I hope I get 10 years out of this one. Not bad for $80. Easy to install and runs pretty quite.

I installed the pump in a pit which has a concrete base and is essentially sealed from sand and debris. The water is crystal clear. Ground water levels are very low this time of the year, so the pump has not needed to run. After sitting for a week in about 10-15cm of water, I decided to test the pump manually to ensure all is well. The pump would not start. It hummed, but did not spin-up. I lifted the pump and manually rotated the motor with a small screwdriver. It was difficult to turn, but it eventually moved freely. I replaced the pump and ran it manually - no problem. Another week passed, and I decided to check the pump again. The manual test revealed that again, it would not start. Pulled the pump again and this time opened the foot cover - images attached show a green/blue substance around/near the shaft bushing. I detached the shaft from the motor and removed it from the column. This revealed a massive amount of grease around the shaft at the bushing base. This grease was thick - some of the thickest, stickiest grease I have ever encountered. Embedded in the grease were small balls of Styrofoam - likely form the packaging. What I believe to be the problem is that the manufacturer applied an excess amount of grease to the shaft. This grease when sitting is cold water becomes very stiff. So stiff in fact that the motor start-winding was not able to spin-up the motor. The solution was to remove all of this thick grease and replace it with a reasonable amount of quality waterproof grease. While I had the shaft out and the cover open, I also removed a large injection molding nib which could become problematic in the future due to it's size. The pump was reassembled and now works correctly. Having disassembled the pump, I can confirm that both the shaft and impeller are made of stainless steel. The screws holding on the base cover are also made of stainless steel. Overall the build quality is good. Dear manufacturer: the expression "the bigger the gob, the better the job" is not appropriate in this case when applying such a thick grease.
