Fantastic mug (TESTED)
This is a fantastic travel mug in pretty much every way. The bottle is shockingly lightweight, the locking lid is both leakproof and easy to clean, and the design is sleek and modern. However I was mostly interested in its ability to retain heat. People frequently rave about this mug online, and I've seen some wild claims about it working "too well". Apparently it retains heat so efficiently, that beverages are still boiling hot even after sitting around for days. That, to me, always sounded too good to be true. So I wanted to test it and see how well it works. I boiled water and filled the mug to the very top - the water was 208F right before I closed the lid. I put the lid in the locked position, and left the mug sitting on a kitchen counter. The room temp was 65F when I did this. After exactly 6 hours, the water was 173F, aka 35 degrees cooler than it was in the beginning. Still far too hot to drink, but a decent temperature reduction nonetheless. For comparison, the product details state that if a drink is 189F at 1 hour, it should be 160F at 6 hrs, aka 29 degrees cooler. So my water was 6 degrees cooler than advertised, but because my water started at a hotter temperature, that seems fair (also I realize that the product details won't be perfectly accurate every single time). I checked the water again after 12 hours (so 18 total hours since I started) - the temp was now 129F, and far easier to drink (but still hot). So after 18 hours, the water had cooled down 79 degrees in total. All of that being said, my takeaway is that this is a phenomenal mug. It kept my water hot for almost a day, and it definitely seems to work better than every other travel mug I've used (Yeti, Stanley, etc). However, the claims that the mug is able to keep drinks perfectly heated are clearly exaggerated. In fairness, I only did this one test, and it was by no means scientific or anything. But I think it's fair to say that while this is an above-average thermos, it isn't going to magically keep your beverages scalding hot for days. I still highly recommend it, as it works really well and it's just a well-made and cool-looking thermos overall.

It's love!!
About six months ago I bought a Yeti for the first time, based on all the glowing reviews. It's okay, but doesn't retain much heat after about 5 hours, and the stainless steel is either stained or rusted (and that happened after a week). So I started looking for something better. Excellent heat & cold retention was my main criteria, but ease of cleaning and no leaking were also important. And I wanted another 20 ounce cup. I studied ALL the cups with lids and their reviews, multiple times. I was trying to pay less than the bag of gold & treasure I paid for the disappointing Yeti. One day the Zojirushi popped up. I kept passing it by because it looked like a thermos, not a cup, and the price was in the same range as the Yeti -- giving the possibility of two expensive cups that didn't work. But the reviews were stellar, some of the one star reviews were because liquids were still too hot hours later, clean up did look simple, the lock feature meant no drips, and even though it wasn't a "cup", it was possible to open & drink one handed. So I put it on my list and waited for a sale. A month and an Amazon Sale Days! later, there was no sale and I bought it anyway. I'm so glad I did. It's feather lightweight, the lock feature is secure, the design of the drinking spout is perfect, it's super simple to clean thoroughly, and the heat retention is AWESOME!! I fill the container with hot coffee before I go to bed, so that I can have coffee before getting up (I'm retired). After seven or eight hours, the coffee is only slightly less hot than it was when it was packaged. Perfect drinking temperature. I cannot believe the heat retention of this thermos. If I were going to get a drink from it after only a couple of hours, I'd probably have to pour it into a cup to cool a little. Highly recommended and well worth the price. Tip: the instruction booklet is in Japanese. If you have "Google Lens" on your phone, you can take a picture of a page, then hit "translate" to switch the page to English.

Just a Really Good Mug
I got this after watching a video comparing a bunch of other brands and this one was pretty much hands down the best performing in every category, and they're right! While I didn't really check the size, so it was kind of smaller than I expected (my bad), its lightweight, easy to clean, and most importantly it keeps the temperature extremely well. I made some tea after I got it to test this out and I came back to it around two hours later and it was so hot it scalded my tongue. It's a solid investment if you're looking for a new mug!

Long lasting heat and safe materials for the health conscious.
This Zojirushi bottle is a great value for the money. I purchased the 12 ounce bottle for my tea. It's small size makes it easily fit into a backpack or bag. It's the perfect amount for tea. I brew it before I leave the house, and it's still hot hours later. For water, I would get the 16 ounce bottle, but the 12 is perfect for tea or coffee. Pros: The bottle's inside is ceramic and not plastic. Ceramic is much safer than plastic, which I try to avoid for all hot drinks. It has a strong seal. It snaps in place and does not open without being opened. The release button is convenient for your thumb, so while driving, I can click and drink. It's spring loaded, so the lid pops open. The spout has an air return, so the liquid flows freely. The lid also has a lock, also convenient to release with one hand. This prevents it from opening accidentally in a bag. It's very easy to clean. I have forgotten to empty my tea for several days. The old tea doesn't stick to the ceramic, and doesn't stain it. Hot soapy water or bleach, and a few good shakes, and the inside is cleaned up. The lid is easily disassembled for cleaning, though this doesn't need to be taken apart often. The seal and the mouth are both one-piece designs. Unlike other bottles I have used, there aren't any crevasses for residue to build up in. It's easy to wash without disassembly. Even though I misplaced this and tea sat in it for almost three weeks, after cleaning it, there was no odor or foul smells. After a wash, it was no worse for the wear. Cons: The price. I was a little reluctant at first because of the price compared to other similar items. However, the Zojirushi is so well made, you get more than what you pay for. The quality build will last for years, and the ceramic doesn't rust or break down. Even though it is priced higher, it's still a great value for the money. It has limited colors. For me, the color isn't very important, but the selection is limited. Overall: This Zojirushi is the best hot drink bottle I have purchased to date. I would gladly buy this again. I recommend this over pretty much any bottle on the market. I'd rather pay for quality than get one that doesn't hold heat or has toxic plastics leeching into the tea. It's well worth the price.

Easy Easy to Clean
I bought this mostly on a whim.... bad habit, I know. However, I have been a Contigo fan for years but never liked how the caps were hard to clean - especially when I use a powdered creamer. The 'coagulum' stayed hidden in the non-accessible recesses and was gross - think 'black snot' when it does rinse out. So enter the Zojirushi. Everything in the cap that comes into contract with liquid is accessible and can be disassembled for easy, easy cleaning. No hidden leftovers. But, does it keep coffee hot? I think so but I usually go through a container full well before it would have a chance to cool. The cap mechanism is fool proof and works well and can be manipulated with one hand. However, one very, very interesting point I noticed right away and that is that the cap does not loose or trap heat from the beverage. Other designs; e.g., Contigo seem to loose heat from the cap. Thus, heat transfer to the cap and subsequent cooling of the beverage happens. Two negatives: 1. it does not fit under my Keurig brewer. This means you'll need to transfer your drink to the Zojirushi - that is inconvenient but I'm willing to put up with that. 2. The Zojirushi skinny. I have not tried it in my Mazda's cup holders. It will fit of course but how tightly remains to be seen. I like the Zojirushi but wish it was fatter and shorter. Five stars because of cleaning easily, operability and heat retention.

My favorite water bottle
A reliable water bottle for keeping drinks hot and cold. The spout is easy to clean. I have one that I used for 7 years. It is very well made and last much longer than my other thermos. I am getting another one for my kid. It has a lock that prevents opening the lid accidentally.

Surprisingly great bottle
Let me start by saying I'm writing this on my own I've gotten nothing to write this. So I got this as a work bottle to just keep water so I don't use cups anymore. At first I was surprised at how nice it looked and it's solid for the price I wasn't expecting that. I just wanted a cheap 2 to 4 hour cold bottle for water. Let me tell you this thing will keep cold for like 6 to 8 hours with 2 ice cubes. Shocked I tell you shocked. I've been using it daily for a week and I finally dropped it, 6ft straight onto concrete and it was full of water. A small dent a loud sound and it's perfectly fine. 10\10 would recommend. The lid is snappy and built well, easy to clean no weird small spots and the bottle itself is solid smooth metal and looks nice. I got the navy blue one. Definitely will order another in the future to have one around the house.

Not bad but with one flaw
Overall this is a nice water bottle. The slim profile ensures it fits in virtually any holder on a backpack. It retains temperature well, keeping water cool for a pretty extended time period. One thing that stops this from being better is the drinking spout and lid. The way the spout is angled, unless you tilt your held back as you drink, your nose will hit the stopper of the lid. Other bottles I have has a more generic drinking spout shape so I can drink with the lid off to the side if I wanted. It's more difficult with this bottle. 4 stars. 1 star deducted because of the spout and lid positioning. There are better water bottles out there. Really deserves 3.5 stars but there's no option for that.

Best money I’ve ever spent
This is probably the first time I’ve ever wrote a review for a product. This thing is the bees knees my morning coffee doesn’t lose a degree of temp from the time I make it till 3 hours later when I drink it a work. Doesn’t leak and isn’t uncomfortable to drink out of. I will be telling anyone who will listen about how good this mug is

Better than Yeti !
Bought this on the basis of reviews. Heat retention is way better than my Yeti rambler which by mid afternoon after filling up in the morning is going luke warm. This Zojirushi is about the same volume of liquid internally but has some major advantages. 1: keeps hot ALL day even after nearly half drunk 2: is slimmer/narrower body that fits into my back pocket (sticking out the top) as well as my van side door etc 3: It has a lid that flips open at the press of a button (has sliding locking switch to prevent unwanted opening) Keep dust in my workshop out of the mouth piece (unlike the Yeti which you get a mouthful of dust) (I am a Carpenter) 4: it is much lighter than the Yeti mug so would be acceptable to take walking / camping / backpacking 5: it easy to clean as the head part comes apart into pieces The only negatives is its hard to get inside to clean as its narrow but a bottle brush sorted this. Also I'm not sure how much it would take an impact if it fell while full onto concrete? Hope i don't find out because i really like this mug. Some people have said that you can't chug quickly out of it because of the drinking spout - not what you want for hot coffee anyway. But for cold it pours well like a regular flask again unlike the Yeti mug which doesn't pour as it goes down the side if you want to share your drink. Worth the money - i payed £28 for the blue one but for some reason the other colours were insanely expensive so beware.

Keeps Water COLD all Day
This is the best water bottle ever. The contents stay cold all day and the flip up lid is so easy and convenient. Additionally, it is completely LEAKPROOF!! Although there are far less expensive options, this is a super durable and worthwhile purchase. I highly recommend it.

Totalmente recomendable
