IcebreakerWomen's Sprite Merino Wool Hot Pants

Great briefs, did not fancy black color
The grey melange color I personally liked much more than the black. Fit I like (M size), covers enough cheek and remains sportsy fresh well beyond 30s. Very comfy and do not roll or crumple or ride up for me at all.The fabric is thin, but they did take a lot of abuse without wearing out. Even the light grey version is not see through. It is mostly made of a fine merino thread, combining a stretch fit with breathability. It does not run sweaty for me on hikes and on those days, so for me, no friction and less stink. You know, wool and ventilation help equally but we remain human. ;-)Wear equally well under thin dresses in summer heat as under diversely combined layers for icy snow fun.My most frequent choice for the outdoors for years. Engel sports make my very favourites, cleaner but more pricey. I wear the icebreakers for sports, hikes and just in general for long days. Would personally not use more than one day without wash, have heard other women do that happily on ultralight but multi day adventures (sometimes with liners).

Feels great
I just really like the way merino wool feels and works as an underwear. This is a nice pair. They stretch a little, but not too much that you can't wear them anymore. They are comfortable and the band is no problem. The hem at the thigh will start to roll a bit.

Love Them.
In 2011 I threw away my entire collection of underwear and bought all identical $20 a pair Patagonia underwear that I have LOVED. I considered $20 a pair of underwear to be a massive splurge (before I'd buy cheap packages of underwear for like $12 for 10 pairs) but that Patagonia underwear is still in great shape and I haven't bought any new underwear since 2011. Then I heard about these from somewhere. What started off as an "$30-40 for one pair of underwear!? That's ridiculous!!" I slowly started to think about what an upgrade the Patagonia underwear was to my daily life vs. the cheap, uncomfortable underwear I wore before 2011. I started thinking, 'what if this Icebreaker underwear is another massive quality of life leap (like that Patagonia underwear)?' I thought the boy short was cute too... So I watched the prices and bought a pair to experiment when the price was ideal. Well I loved that pair of underwear! I reach for these before any other pair. I've gained a little bit of weight since 2011 and my legs rub together a little and it can be a little uncomfortable, this underwear resolves that issue. Also, many women complain about odors and fluid and dampness in their underwear and I had completely forgotten that those were ever concerns because the Patagonia fabric eliminated all of those issues. So I was concerned that the Icebreaker underwear might not handle the chemistry of a woman as well as Patagonia. Fortunately, there have been absolutely no issues with smell or fluid or dampness. I haven't had any issue where the underwear is visible through any skirts or pants or dresses. I've since bought 7 pairs of this underwear, so I can wear one every day. I wash these in the washing machine but hang dry them and they dry within a few hours or overnight without additional effort from me. I wear them to work, to the gym, hiking, backpacking, to Iceland, and I'm about to take them to a tropical island in Belize. I've also used them as a bathing suit when I'm hiking and need to jump in a waterfall but didn't pack a bathing suit. I bought the matching bra too and also love the Icebreaker bra. Highly recommended. At the higher price point, I expect these to last as long or longer than my Patagonia underwear.I highly recommend this underwear! But would recommend buying one pair at a time to make sure they're right for you, because they are expensive!

Stretched out and ride up
There is no elastic around the leg openings so throughout the day the leg opening stretched and grows. I am constantly putting them back in place all day long. I hate them.

Fabulous
I ski long days in very cold conditions in these hot pants. They stay put. No wedgy buried under multiple layers. They stay dry and warm all day. Will buy more!

Too low in the hips for me.
I didn’t like the lower cut to this.

Make my butt happy
These are incredibly comfortable and fit as anticipated with boy-type shorts. They don’t move and they don’t itch. I wish I could afford to make them all of my undies.

Gute Sportunterwäsche
Sehr bequem.

Doesn't fit as well as I would have liked.
Rides up my left glute, but not my right. I am not deformed, so go figure. They are expensive so I'll try to keep wearing them and hope I'll get used to it.
