La Follia - The Triumph Of Folly

The Follia is one of the most famous melodies (and bass lines) in Western Music. Many of the older sources of this repertoire go unheard or are recorded In a rather flat manner. This ensemble, known for its innovative arrangements of music that has come down to us in a rather fragmented way, has here recorded a brilliant array of styles, using all sorts of instruments and even some "folk voice" Italian vocals, to tease the ear and the imagination. This disc is also very well recorded.I apologize for writing in English, but this disc is too good to pass up.

Légérement dèçu par cette interprétation qui manque de vivacité.de piment. Les deux cd consacrés à "La Folia"de Jordi Savall sont plus entraînants et de meilleures factures . A écouter quand même .

古楽のCDというよりは、古楽器を使った自由奔放な演奏のCDです。かつてのパ二アグヮやサヴァールよりももっと羽目を外しています。発声はほとんど民族音楽風で、曲も三分の一ぐらいはメンバーが創作したものです。ヴィヴァルディのラ・フォリアにしても原曲に民族音楽調の歌が入っておりとてもユニークな音楽です。他の曲も、口琴がビヨーンビヨーンと加わったり、バグパイプが延々となり続けたり、切れの良いパーカッションが大活躍したりととても面白いのですが、ライブならともかくCDだと一回聞いたら満喫してしまうかもしれません。
