Fantastic Collection of Dreyer.
I had coveted this for quite a while before finally purchasing, but am mightily impressed by everything about it.I adore all of the films by Dreyer I had collected up until this release but was yet to see Master Of The House, Ordet and Gertrud. Upon doing so I can truthfully declare that I adore all of his work. Ordet, in particular, was a revelation and is now one of my favourite films of all time, along with Dreyer’s The Passion Of Joan Of Arc, among others. Everything about it was beautifully made. The performances by all the cast, the screenplay, art direction, production design, the mood, and lighting. The emotion I felt upon witnessing the climax was overwhelming, akin to a religious experience, which in light of the film’s story is maybe not all that surprising, but I found it highly impressive.I am yet to indulge in all of the wealth of extras included, but if they are even half the quality of what I have already been privy to, I will be more than satisfied.A fantastic release by the BFI, and one that I am eternally grateful for having in my possession.

Essential for Lovers of Film
Ive just watched 2 of the films 'Master of the House' and the later 'Ordet' I am a huge fan of Dreyers and know'Vampyr' 'The Passion of Joan of Arc' and Michael.Ordet is quite frankly a shattering film (in a very good way) I was in floods of tears as it came to its climax. This Box set is worth having for 'Ordet' alone before you even get to any of the other films and the beautiful extras. This had been in my wishlist for a very long time and I am incredibly glad I bought it at long last.Incredibly crisp Black and White cinematography on blu ray for under £30....from the Master of Danish film.An incredible viewing experience.

BFI edition boxset is the one to own for Dreyer fans.
If you wanna have a brief knowledge about the Danish master, and own the best edition of his works at the same time. Buy this BFI boxset with confidence. The best image quality so far, and for the ones who miss Joan D'arc, either Criterion or Moc is fine, as both of them are in top-of-notch state of quality.
