Most home barista’s know that grind size and being consistent are a huge part of making good espresso. Tamping plays a huge part of the equation. This tamper/leveler is worth its weight in gold. I did a lot of searching on different web sights selling these items. The cost was shockingly high and unreasonable to say the least. This purchase was not only reasonable but also a step above the rest. It is solid and heavy. You want a tamper/leveler that is solid and weighty so that you do less work. This product does both leveling and tamping. Did I mention it’s adjustable as well for depth. Both sides! Again alot depends on how much espresso you dose up in your basket and consistency as to how you adjust for performance. The size is absolutely perfect! Also it’s quite nice looking, and made of solid stainless steel. Nothing cheap whatsoever! Important to note that the 58.5 size is what you want for flush 58mm baskets. Do your research and check out prices. This tamper is easy on the wallet and quite a nice addition to my coffee bar.

Prior to this I was getting pretty good results using separate leveling and tamping tools, and probably would've never thought to get anything else. My tamper was pretty standard (decent upgrade from what came with my espresso machine), but the leveler was a Motta. Unfortunately the leveler fell off the top of my grinder onto an espresso mug, which put two barbs in the rim that made it uncomfortable to handle. After confirming Motta didn't sell just a replacement handle, I started shopping one-piece tools. I liked the all-silver yet understated look of this one. Compared to having separate tools, it's nice to only have the one footprint to deal with in your setup. Also the leveler and tamper depths are adjustable, so once tuned to your bean/grind, they do the same thing every time. I left the leveler setting as-is but put a little more depth on the tamper side. It gives a satisfying sink when compressing the grounds after leveling and a nice polish. I'm not exacting enough to where I weigh out the beans or grounds but am used to how much grind goes in the portafilter, and am getting more consistent results finishing with this tool. Shots come out with no noticeable difference every time, whereas before, some would pull faster than others. Really like the look, functionality, and simplicity of this tool. Also the 58.5mm is a perfect fit for my Gaggia Classic Pro.

The product has a very good quality and is pleasant to use

Overall this product is really a great value. However I would say that the most difficult aspect is cleaning it. Taking it apart requires changing the tamp level from what you have it set at. Making it difficult to get it back to the same level of performance after cleaning as you have to adjust the tamp level back. Otherwise it fits like a glove in my porta filter and does a really good job leveling out my grinds.

I was skeptical of spending this much on a tamper, but the Flair sizing is so specific there weren't many options. However, I am very happy with this - it's heavy, well built, and works like a charm. It has helped me fine-tune my tamper settings and greatly improved the consistency of my espressos.

The packaging for this was apparently run over by a truck, judging from the printed scuffs on the bubble mailer and how the product’s cardboard box was damaged. However, I guess that makes testament to how tough this is. The leveler/tamper is not damaged. This is a heavy sucker. It clocks in at 724g (1.6 lbs). There are no instructions, but the use is pretty straightforward. The body acts as a lock nut for the tamper/leveler. Unscrew one side and then unscrew the body against that side to lock it, repeat to set the desired depth on both sides, then twist the two halves of the body together to lock those. The threads are somewhat fine, meaning the adjustment a be minute. There are no laser-etched markings to indicate depth. You just have to eyeball it. That said, as I review this, I am starting to feel like it’s more of a novelty than a necessity. The 58.5mm diameter fits my gaggia classic portafilter basket with just a little gap near the edge, but certainly much better than a straight up 58mm tamper. The weight gives a good flywheel effect for the leveler spin. But, all of that said, the Normcore (https://a.co/d/6HSCfG5)self leveling spring loaded tamper I just picked up is doing just fine without needing to add a leveling step to my espresso process. That will also give me a consistent tamp at any measure of coffee without needing to fuss with a depth setting.

Queda perfecto para el portafiltro de 54mm de la Breville BES870XL/A , es más fácil de usar que un tamper y nivela muy bien previo a usar la parte del aplanado dejando todo listo para un gran espresso. Lo recomiendo mucho

Nada extraordinario, cumple con su funcion en cuanto a siempre tener un tamping parejo y nivelado. solo necesitas ajustarlo a tu filtro y la cantidad de cafe que usas, y listo. el unico pero es que se me hace caro para lo que realmente es.
